I've had my Roadster head for about six months, using it as a backup or second amp. I'd been getting some pretty great sounds out of it, but never liked it as much as my JP-2C.
In the past week, I've almost complete retubed it. It's a whole new beast now. Clearer and more articulate distortion, better saturation and sustain, better cleans, and even Brit mode finally sounds just right.
V1- Telefunken long smooth grey plate NOS
V2- Same
V3 - Sylvania long smooth grey plate, Baldwin-labeled, very high gain
V4 - New production Genalex Gold Lion gold pin
V5 - Sylvania
V6 - Gold Lion
Power amp: TAD 6L6s (dual getter 387/415 clones)
