6550s in a mesa

I haven't but you would have to bring it to a shop for a technician to rebias for those tubes (unless you know what you are doing).

Those tubes are really powerful, but doesn't have characteristics like 6L6s or EL34 and 6550s are commonly used in bass amps such as Ampegs where you need clean headroom. But a good question neverthless.

It would be monsterous

Bob at Eurotubes says you can do it.
But, Mesa reps say it will kill the transformer.

And youd need to do more than take your amp in for a bias, youd need to have a trim pot installed you can adjust the bias.
