Hi guys. I have a 1960a Marshall 4x12 cab, that has 4 Celestion G12T-75 (16 ohm). Now the Marshall cab has these options:

- mono (4 or 16 ohm);
- stereo (8 ohm left or 8 ohm right).

I'm going to change the speakers with 4 Celestion Vintage 30 (8 ohm), to use it with my Triple Rectifier. Can anyone explain me what's the best way to connect the speakers together and try to use the Marshall options to do stereo connections? Thanks in advance!

I myself am no expert, but I would suggest to connect the new V30's EXACTLY the same way the old G12T-75's are hooked up. Carefully write down and/or take a picture of the wiring connections prior to installing the new ones, then reference the picture/diagram when installing the V30's...

FYI, this is also helpful stuff here: http://homepage.mac.com/mesaboogie/excab/excab1.html

Download the triple rec manual online and it has a series parallel wiring diagram in the back thats what i used to hook up my speakers with the jack though its harder

I tried to wire them exactly like the old speakers were hooked up, but unfortunately I haven't the correct load. Infact using the Marshall wiring I obtain 4 ohm speakers output in stereo connection, but in mono I always have 2 ohm...!

Here is how to wire the cab, you are dropping the resistance of the speakers by half ( 16 vs 8 ), which is why you are ending up with half the load.

The v30's come in 8 and 16 ohm models, I would suggest getting the 16 ohm as a direct replacement for the marshall speakers. Then you can wire them exactly as the previous speakers are done.

Have fun!
