I'd be careful buying this one. His ads sounds like he used the recto with no rectifier tubes.

Defects: Rectifier tubes are not in it because I never used them (kinds defeats the Rec sound). I do not have them, but they can be gotten at any Guitar Center for about $40-$50. It does have a few dings / knicks. The case has one broken latch that can be easily replaced with a replacement latch from the hardware store and a philips head screwdriver.

I wouldn't touch this recto with a 10 foot pole.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with not using recto tubes in that amp. Call Mesa or any good tech if you want to verify.

What I would be worried about are those power tubes....

Something about running a Recto without tubes is worry-some. yeah, I noticed he had different mix of power tubes in there as well.

I guess that seller's feedback speaks for itself.

There isn't anything wrong with pulling the rectifier tubes if you're using the silicon diodes. The PT will actually run a bit cooler. If anything, it helps the amp.

I would agree about being careful. Those don't even look like power tubes. lol. Anyone know what they are?

They're old USA tubes, looks like at least one RCA, one Sylvania...can't see the rest.

Nothing wrong with removing the rectifier tubes, my TOV doesn't have them (although I did make up some dummy plugs to keep crap out of the sockets). I also run my Heartbreaker with a SS module in place of the 5AR4 - since that amp changes the bias voltage with rectifier selection, it helps in 'fine-tuning' the amp to the power tubes. As mentioned above, it's easier on the amp.
