Hi guys - new to the forum. Had a Boogie Solo Rec back in the late 90s, and now I'm back in the Boogie family - just picked up a new 3 ch Dual Rec yesterday!

Anyway - I have a question about the effects loop....

I don't want to run any effects in the loop, but I want to have the loop active because I want to use the Output and Solo controls.

My question is where is the best place to set the Send and Mix levels, given that I am not actually running any effects? The manual covers levels when using the Recto as a power amp only, but doesn't say where to set it when the only reason you have FX engaged is to get to the Output and Solo.

Thanks!

Hey there,

if I'm not mistaken, just set your Output and Solo Levels to your wishes and don't bypass the Loop. You can leave the Send-Control for the FX-Loop untouched, it is only active when the Loop is active (difference between not bypassing the loop and engaging it). Since you don't use it, doesn't matter IMO.

Oh, ok. So basically setting the loop control on the back to "Footswitch", and then making sure the "FX" button on the footswitch is NOT engaged should do the trick - i.e. activate Output and Solo, but makes Send and MIX setting moot?

I'll give that a shot - last night I had the "FX" button engaged, and the position of Send was mucking with the overall level, even though nothing was plugged in.

I didn't think about there being a difference between "loop engaged" and "loop on" - DUH!

Thanks

i do it the same way like you. i enable the loop so that i can use the master and solo knobs.
i did set the mix level to min. and the send level do noon.
that works fine for me.

From memory that shouldn't work if memory serves me right, both should be at noon when loop active but not in use. Or you can run the mix level on full, try both, ever so slightly difference in sound.
