3/4 Back 1x12 Cab with EV

I recently dropped a Mesa EV speaker in my 3/4 back cab and was blown away by the sound i got from it. I am now a believer in the EV speakers.

I use one in a 1x12 Thiele for my Stiletto Deuce. Sounds good to me. I get to crank it at a gig tomorrow night.

I was thinking about downsizing from my recto 4x12 and picking up a 3/4 back 1x12. For low volume playing, does it have a nice full sound like a 4x12?

The Thiele is a ported closed back cab. The gig I used it for ended up not being too good soundwise due to the small nature of the establishment and the way the band had to setup. The crowd said everything sounded great, but I couldn't really hear myself too well. Also, I'm playing through a Stiletto Deuce, so you're comparing apples and oranges soundwise. I can hook it into my recto to do a speaker comparison, though. Now I'm a bit curious.

Hey I have never used the 3/4 back 112 with the stock C90 speaker I bought mine used with an eminence black shadow in it. Which sounded great clean but not on my overdrive channels. Now I can tell you the EV is a beast, I was jamming with my friend and his 4x12 and I was able to here myself no problem with the single EV. I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised by it in the 3/4 Back.
