I live in Croatia Europe and I bought on eBay 2:Ninety wired for 117V,
can somebody tell me which adapter,(actually which power consumption) do i need!?!?

You need a 230V to 110 V step-down transformer.

The wattage of the transformer is very important. You should find out the power consumption of the amp, and get a transformer rated at least 2 or 3 times higher.

I would e-mail mesa/boogie and ask them the power consumption of the amp. Even though the amp seems like it is 180watt, i would imagine the power consumption is much higher. You could be looking at getting a 1000watt transformer, which will be expensive.

Edit - if im not mistaken the picture of the 2:90 on mesa/boogies website shows a 6.5A slo-blo fuse at 117V. That means the amp theoretically could be drawing close to 760watts for short periods.

I just bought a 1000watt converter for my 290. My 500 watt converter will power the 290 just fine but I am sure if I started to push the amp it would blow the converter's fuse really quick.

The converters are not THAT expensive as I just picked up mine for $54 USD plus $15 for shipping. You will probably have to pay more for shipping unless you can find a good dealer in your country (which i am sure you can).

Good luck.

I found only 500w converter, but i didn't try it yet...i don't plan to push my amp to loud,is it possible to change or redo transformator inside 2:Ninety!?!??! Thanks

It is possible to convert a 2:90 (or any amp) to euro voltage. I have a schematic somewhere, i will see if i can find it.

If you are using a 500w transformer at 230V, the fuse in the transformer will (or should be), rated to allow no more than 500w through (to prevent the transformer from overheating and failing). probably a 2.5A fuse?

So of course, there is a good chance that you will blow the fuse every now and then. If you are playing at home this won't be a huge problem, but i would not like it to happen at a gig, which is why i would always use a transformer rated a lot higher than what i needed.

I ordered 1000 w adapter custom handmade and it'll be home tomorow!
Thanks everybody for your help and patience!
Tommorow i'm here to tell you my experience with my first 2:Ninety&Triaxis combination in my rack!!!

If you'd find schematic, please send it to me - maybe it can help me in the future! [email protected]

Thanks,pal! Keep on rocking!

Out of interest. what would happen if the power supply was only say 300W?
How would that affect tone?
