The 2:100 is similar to the power section in a Dual Rectifier head, where the 2:90 is Simul-Class and similar to that of a Mark IV. You will still get a huge bone-crushing sound out of the 2:90 though!

And to clear things up, the way the Modern mode is implemented on the two amps is not the same. The 2:90's modern mode is an EQ tweak. The amount of negative feedback is increased I believe. Whereas on the 2:100 the modern mode completely removes negative feedback from the power amp. Negative Feedback is used in the amp to stabilize the power amp and make it more linear. It also is used for the presence control. In the 2:90 the presence control is always part of the negative feedback, in the 2:100 in modern mode the presence control becomes an additional treble control voiced higher than a normal treble control would be.

Hello.
Do you have schematics for 2:100? I`m interested in adding 'modern mode' to 50-50 power amp. Is ot possible?
Greetings

It would probably be easier to just buy a 2:90 or 2:100 and pull four power tubes.
