I normally use a pair of EV Thieles with the 2:90, but lately I've been preferring a slightly "warmer" sound using a pair of 2 x 12 Eminence 16 ohm 100w cabs (200w per cab parallel wired to 8 ohms)

However, I've been thinking of using just one of these, to run as a single stereo cab. Each 16 ohm speaker connecting to the 2:90 Left and Right 8 ohm jacks.

Just need to be sure that the 2:90 can do this safely, as described in the manual.
Anyone ever worked like this and would I notice much of a volume drop ?

thanks
Lyn

That should be fine. You will be pushing your tubes (and your tranny) a bit harder. So, if you don't mind shorter tube life and possible tranny burnout (if you're jamming 6 days per week 3hrs or more at a time), then go for it.
