1988 SimuClass Mark111
----------------------------
Can somebody please give me an idea of what
this amp is worth ?
Its been gigged with a little, in mint shape, always
kept in it's "trap-case" .
Never had an issue with it.

Probably somewhere in the $700-1100 ballpark (give or take), depending on condition, options, and revision. If it's in as good of condition as you say, then it could obviously command a little more than a beat up one. Does it have the graphic EQ and reverb? Is it a combo or a head? EQ + reverb = more $, and combos will be worth a hundred or two more than heads, with all other variables constant. And since you say it was born in '88, I'd say it's most likely a blue stripe (there should be a magic marker swipe right above where the power cord goes into the amp). Blue stripes seem to be relatively desirable compared to other III's because of their extremely aggressive preamp. If it's not a blue, then it's probably a red stripe, which is also good since the preamp circuits on those are almost identical to the IIC+.

Thanx for your reply on my Mark111 inquiry.
Yes, it is a combo. It does have graphic EQ,
It does have reverb, a knob in the back of the
amp right next to a presence knob, too. It has
the effects loop input & returns on the back.
It has the switch for cutting power in the back.
I have to look real hard to find a scratch on this amp.
It's all black, says MESA/BOOGIE on the front grille cloth.
I def. purchased it in summer of 1988 and I remember the
owner of the music store saying it was in his store for
awhile. I will check for the red or blue stripe.
Thankyou very much.

I checked the back of the amp.
It has a blue stripe.
I think the ser. no. is 22617

I just paid $800 for an amp almost just as you described (never been gigged though). The guy was asking $900. I bought it knowing exactly what I wanted and I am very pleased to have it.

What something is worth is usually determined by what someone is willing to pay for it.
