Picked up a Blue Angel 1x12. Can't tell if reverb is workin

I fixed it!!! Although it may not last. In the reverb tank there is an input and output RCA jack. Each of the RCA jack positive terminal is connected to a little transducer (about 1/4 inch and is basically a small coil of wire). The RCA jacks are connected to the transducer with some small...

Picked up a Blue Angel 1x12. Can't tell if reverb is workin

He said to basically check the RCA cable connections as well as the foam stuffing to make sure it's not shifted and pressing against the strings... and to look for broken wires inside the tank. He said if the small wires inside are broken they are about impossible to resolder. I'm out of town...

Picked up a Blue Angel 1x12. Can't tell if reverb is workin

Yup... swapped out V4. Just got off the phone with Chris a Mesa and he said the F30 is a different tank from the Blue Angel. The BA is tube and the F30 isn't. Based on what I told him he thinks it's most likely the tank and gave me some things to check. And if I need to replace it a new one...

Picked up a Blue Angel 1x12. Can't tell if reverb is workin

thanks Mike, I tried tube swapping of V3 (known good tube from my F-30) and no change. I found a Blue Angel schematic on line by accident and if it's correct the reverb circuit is pretty straight forward and, as you know, uses V3 and a portion of V4. There isn't much that can go wrong with...

Picked up a Blue Angel 1x12. Can't tell if reverb is workin

Hi I just picked up a Blue Angel 1x12 and love the sound. The only thing is I think the reverb is not working or the reverb on the Blue Angel is very subtle. When I turn the reverb knob up past about 9:00 it starts to make the already noisey amp noiser. It does seem to inject some reverb...

ringing noise at times. Meas f-30

Thanks for the reply.. Very interesting! I called Mesa and they suggest tube microphonic's but I never thought about the guitar being the culprit. I'll try the foam to see if that get's rid of it.. That's easy to do. Thanks HP

ringing noise at times. Meas f-30

When playing my Mesa F30 at moderate to loud volume on certain usually low frequency notes I can hear a faint sort of ringing sound of pretty sort duration and is annoying. the best description I can think of is a distant shaking of a tambourine sound in the amp. I thought it might be...

New to the BB... New (used) F-30

Thanks... I've heard it really comes alive with a 4X12. I'll be sure to get some extra tubes to have around.. At least I still have my blues deluxe to use if the boogie craps out because of tubes. HP

New to the BB... New (used) F-30

That's kind of funny.. I've sort of had that love hate relationship with my Fender Blues Deluxe. So far, with the F-30 I've been able to dial in a pretty nice sound. I took the time to read the manual (a very good one at that) and really got a feel for what each knob is supposed to do and how...

New to the BB... New (used) F-30

Just wanted to say hi and that I have recently picked up a used Mesa F-30. I like the amp a lot but I'm in the very beginning of experimenting with all of the tones. I primarily play Blues and Jazz with more emphasis on blues. So far I can only play it on low volume..until I can get it out or...
