    Head Cabinet Cost???

I have a 1x12 DC-2 combo. I want to convert it to a head. Anyone have an approximate idea of how much a simple tolex head cabinet would cost and if anyone could build one other than Mesa?

Fillmore 25 Combo - Now What???

Hello everyone in forum land! Here is my story: I have a Marshall JCM 2000 100 watt head that I run through a Marshall 1936 2x12 cab with vintage 30's. I love the tone I get. I run clean and use pedals in the front of my amp. Everything is great. It is just bulky and heavy. So, I decided to...

    Tube Change and Wonderful Results

I purchased a used 50 Caliber + back in March and it had 3 standard JJ ECC83 preamp tubes, a JJ ECC81 in the fourth position and an Electro Harmonix 12AX7 in V2. The power tubes were Ruby 6L6GC's. Although the amp sounded good, it was a little "buzzy" sounding and I kept the gain low, to keep...

Why are Boogies Better than the rest?

Boogies are very excellent amplifiers, but there are other amps worth giving a shot. I love my Marshall JCM2000 DSL 100. Although, the only other amp I have owned that I liked as much tone-wise as a Boogie was a Laney AOR 50. It sounded great, but was a one-trick pony. My only Boogie now is a...

    NAD 50 Caliber + and Cab -w/pics!

I am going to try a few different tubes and see what happens. I do want to stay with a 12ax7, though.

    NAD 50 Caliber + and Cab -w/pics!

Also a quick question - since I am not running the gain high, I was wondering what preamp tube I could run in V1 to get a lower gain, mellow tone? I have a full compliment of JJ's in the amp now, which are what came with the amp.

    NAD 50 Caliber + and Cab -w/pics!

I can usually get the volume on both channels to balance pretty well, but I am only running the gain at around 2.5 to 3. I do not use tons of gain. Now that my Boogie is home, I am loving it. I just bought a Way Huge Echo Puss delay to run in the effects loop and I am getting the perfect tone!

    NAD 50 Caliber + and Cab -w/pics!

YES!!!!! :o Today, the Service Manager from Mesa Boogie called me. There were loose wires from both the EQ and the reverb that needed to be fixed. Since it was considered their issue and not mine, they fixed it and are shipping it back free....and REIMBURSING me for my out-of-pocket shipping...

What's the beef with the Nomad series? My Nomad 100 KILLLSSS

I owned a Nomad 55 2x12 and a Nomad 100 head. I tried to like both, but could not do it. The 55 I wished had the 5-band graphic EQ of the 100 watt head. The head had a good channel 1 clean tone, but channel 2 was too muddy for me. I am glad you are enjoying yours. Congrats!
