BOTH!! I have both and they are two different pedals. IMO, the OCD is the best three knob overdrive unit in the market, and the Octafuzz gets a nice mixture of the '69 and '70 fuzzes with the Octave Up switch. I love the octave up sounds. They sound great on the neck pickup with the tone...
Johnny Cash - Live at Folsum Prison
Rory Gallagher - Rory Gallagher, Live in Europe, Against the Grain
Johnny Cash....what more needs to be said about him that hasn't been said. The man was a legend and totally original.
IMO, Rory Gallagher was a very underrated guitar player. Just as...
Alright, has anyone heard Frank Zappa / Mothers of Invention - Freak Out?
That has to be one of the most off the wall recordings I have ever heard. Correct me if I am wrong, but one of the years listed on the CD was 1966. Really?? They were doing that in '66? They all must have been...
Axl just joins a long line of others who have gone downhill after the glitz and glam wore off. Too bad really. To me, after Use Your Illusion I & II, that was it. Steve Adler is doing so well himself. You can catch him on Celebrity Rehab.
Thought I would resurrect this topic. I love all types of modulation and notice them in many different songs. The only pedal I do not own is a good vibe pedal. I have a DIY Phaser/Vibe pedal that gives me a vibe if I want, but I can get my Maxon CS-9 Pro Stereo Chorus to sound like a really...
I was looking through some old topics and I saw this one. I know it is a year, plus, since the post but I have both kinds of wah pedals and would post some pictures if you needed them for reference.
Ken,
The tubes sound great. I put them in my Egnater Rebel 20, which had EL-84 hardness 3's in it, and the EL-84 7's and EH 12
ax7's are a bigg improvement on the tone of the amp. Thanks again for the great shipping and easy transaction!
You need to slow down son. I'm entitled to my opinion without being called ignorant. Anyway....thanks for making my point again. "Dumb as hell" = cheaper and "small in wattage" = smaller. If you want to compare, the Class 5 is cheaper and smaller than a Vintage Modern combo.
Don't forget about the price point also. Because it is a cheaper, smaller amp, the manufacturer will not put as much into the parts. They need to make a profit. Now if you are Mesa, then you will get a product like the TransAtlantic.
I have not used the EL-84's. I have used the KT66's and the GZ34. If the quality/construction of the tube is consistent....it's a great tube. They are very clear sounding tubes with good harmonics. Can't find too many of them though. I would hold on to them.
That sounds like an excellent set of tubes. Pricy, but I bet it was worth it. Might have to try this with my TR. I recently switched off of the Silicon diodes, and I am liking the sound of the amp with the tube rectifiers at low volume. Thanks.
The bigger stores, Guitar Center, Sam Ash, and big independent sellers, will give you the 30 days to return without charge. Other smaller retailers do not offer this plan.
