Hey everyone I'm not a brand new member but haven't been on here in a while but I'm just not getting along with my mark V90 it seems like I'm always fighting to get the mids to sit right... Anyways I've decided to try to sell it on here before I resort to anything else as. In a rural area and...

    Mesa el34 str448

Thank you. Ya it didn't say anything about that in the manual that I remember. They should print that on the back of the amp.

    Mesa el34 str448

I bought two quads of the nis EL34 str448 tubes and when I put one of the sets in the Mark V 90 the caution light on the back of the amp came on even though I had the bias set to EL34 and the power switch on variac power. What does this most likely mean? Are the tubes bad?

    Str 441 6L6 tung sol

No I said I took the str 441 6L6GC out of the Mark V 90 and put in the str448 nos EL34's My bad I misunderstood your post, when you were asking "how I find the str448 in the Mark V 90" I thought you were asking if I found those tubes in it stock instead of taking it as "how do they sound."...

    Str 441 6L6 tung sol

I pulled these out of my Mark V to put in the str 448 EL34's I got on eBay. The say tung sol made in Russia on the base and are labeled Mesa str 441 6L6GC. What are your guys opinions on these tubes? Good? Bad? Let me know...

    NEW! Mesa STR 448 (EL34)

I found two pairs on eBay and snatched them up for my Mark V. I posted a separate thread on the "tubes" section discussing this very topic with alot of info in that thread if you want to check it out.

    Mesa el34 str448

I'm just curious, did you guys decide that these are indeed EL34's and not 6L6's? I'm able to walk now so I'm wanting to switch these out with the stock 6L6 tubes in my Mark V 90. I'm not so much worried about what brand they are but I don't want to put the bias switch set to the wrong tube. Can...

Suggestions for a Mesa amp for mid heavy sound

I've been using the extreme mode on channel 3 and running into either a 2x12 or 4x12 with non Mesa V30's.

Suggestions for a Mesa amp for mid heavy sound

Thanks for the info. I would rather get a TC100 but Mesa isn't making them currently and I would rather buy a new amp so Im thinking about getting the badlander 100. I'm definitely going to look into the badlander more.

Suggestions for a Mesa amp for mid heavy sound

Thanks for all the responses. I've actually been considering maybe the badlander as Mesa isn't making any triple crowns right now. I have a marshall DSL40 that does the mids well but kinda lacks tight bass and can get harsh at times. Good amp though. I got my Mark V 90 because I was going for...

    Mesa el34 str448

On closer inspection these are identical to mine except mine have two getter's it looks like the tubes in the pic only have one otherwise identical.

    Mesa el34 str448

Yes these in the picture look the same as mine as far as every detail I compared. Thanks for yours and everyone else's help identifying these tubes. I'm recovering from foot and ankle surgery at the moment so as soon as I can stand up and get my amp down I'm going to put these EL34's in my Mark V!

    Mesa el34 str448

So are these generally good tubes in your opinion? Thanks for clearing that up before I put them in my amp.

    Mesa el34 str448

After comparing to my tubes more Closely I think it's the EL34. #1 IS clearly connected to the filament and #6 isn't connected to anything and #'s 2&7 looks like they are connected the same as the diagram.

Suggestions for a Mesa amp for mid heavy sound

A great tone for me would the classic 90's mid heavy punk sound. A sound that has a solid bass foundation but isn't flubby or too bass heavy and a sound that pushes mids especially upper mids, and pushes treble too without becoming harsh. I run the gain on my Mark V on 8. Some player's sounds...

Suggestions for a Mesa amp for mid heavy sound

I have a Mark V that I got a couple months ago and I'm just not getting the tones I want from it. Im wanting a sound that's got a solid bass foundation and cuts through with plenty of upper mids and pushes treble without getting harsh. I was thinking about possibly getting a dual rectifier but...

    Boost suggestions for Mark V

I've fallen in love with the extreme mode. I read the manual but there weren't that many settings for extreme mode. Do you have to have the sliders in some sort of V or how would I get a heavy mid sound that cuts through the mix that isn't mushy or flubby?
