Surprise - a noob with a Roadster and tone questions

I know it not always make sense to use some pedals when we bought an almost boutique amp... But I dont think this is completely true. The pedals were made to help us achieving the tone we have in our heads and there is plenty of famous/good tone guitarists who rely on them constantly! If you...

Maybe you should run a overdrive in front of it. It helps a lot!

    Dual Rectifier & Orange PPC212

Guess I'll have to research some more... I was hoping to get a more mid pronounced tone by adquiring a diferente brand than Mesa. Maybe also to blend the new one with the 4x12" and get a more tight/punchy overdrive/distortion tone. Thanks Tom. More experiences with the Dual Recto/OrangePPC212...

    Dual Rectifier & Orange PPC212

Serious? I'm not talking about the cheaper version (open back)! I'm from Europe too and the price of the closed back version is almost the same as the Recto2x12 cabinet! I play in a metal band but I also play in a rock covers band and the upper mids on this one seems more indicated for hard rock...

    Dual Rectifier & Orange PPC212

Hi there, I'm considering on purchasing an Orange PPC212 cabinet (closed back) to match my Dual Rectifier. My Mesa Std 4x12" is a monster and I'm planning using it only on larger venues. I've done some research and only see good things about it: Good projection and construction, nice mids, bass...

My Holy Grail Recto Tone - looking for tips.

There's a lot more involving Mark's live sound than just a Boogie - like a Bogner running with the Triple and even an EQ from Behringer, for example. Maybe this interview can be useful: http://www.vintageguitar.com/13821/mark-tremonti/ ... and another one...

    New Dual Rectifier Recto-Verb 25W

True, the Reverb have been a big part of my sound ultimately. One thing I regret about my Dual is that lack of a Reverb. This little wonder might suit my club gigs just perfectly!

How to get a fatter lead tone on my Rectifier?

You can use a good OD (not necessarily a maxon or a Ibanez), a Fulltone (OCD, Fulldrive2, etc) or even a Boss SD-1, DS-1, OD-3, etc); a good delay (Maybe analog like a MXR Carbon Copy) and to smooth things up, a good compressor (Keeley, Xotic). Adding a compressor in the chain will make all the...
