I've bought the Mesa 6L6 str430 (grey code) yesterday and they sound good to me. Less "thight" that the KT88 but more "loose".
Anyway, I like them, they sound good even at high volume so, they are here to stay ;)
Tanks a lot guys ;)
oh yes I know!
I'm a big Mark Tremonti fan, i've seen Alter bridge twice here in Italy and I love 'em.
I'm not going to say that I need his sound, I'm not playing in a tribute band or anything like that (even if it would be very funny to do that!)..
I was only trying to explain to you what...
Hi guys, and thank you very much.
The amp isn't burning, the smell's gone away (probably it came only from the fact they were new tubes).
Anyway, I like that sound, it's MASSIVE as I said before. It's not like a Diezel or a Bogner, it's always my Mesa, but it's a little more ehm.... boomy? I...
Hi guys,
searching around the web I found these words on the Eurotubes web site:
"KT88's in a Dual Rectifier??
Yes! KT88's in a DR... This is one way to make a DR into "Frankin Rectifier" The bias on the DR's is set very cool for 6L6's and EL34's but the average KT88 draws about double the...
Hi Guys,
i'm just placing my order for an MXR 6 bands EQ.
I'd like to buy the 10 bands but you know, it needs 18 volts and my power brick only goes up to 12.
So, what do you think about the 6 bands Eq? Is it a good deal anyway?
I don't like the Boss GE7 so much, it gives a "plastic" feel to the...
Oh I knew that!
I've ordered few tubes for my old Marshall Plexi from Tube-Town (Svetlana =C=).
Pretty good service!
I'll probably need new tubes and new ceramic tube sockets for my DR, I'm just lookin' for a technician who can set up my DR and than I'll place my order ;)
Thank you anyway ;)
Well, the best thing is that my Recto had an external transofrmer because it's the USA version, and I had to carry that thing with me anytime at gigs!
Now my Dual Recto works at 220 volts, it's a great improvement on my back! :P
Other little mods are these:
more headroom on the clean channel...
My Dual Recto has just come back home, she's been at the LAA Custom (Turin, Italy) for un upgrade.
Here's the result:

Sorry for the recording quality... from the start to the solo you will hear 2 tracks (1 right and 1 left) from the solo till the end only...
Thank you very much!!
Yes, the Syn Custom is a really good guitar, and it works perfectly with my Dual Recto. I think they really are in Love with each other ahah  :D
Well my settings are always the same, I'm not too much far from the "noon" (flat) setting, only the gain is at 7/10. When I play with the band and the volume starts to grow up I usually cut a bit of gain too.
Anyway it depends on which guitar, cab, plugs, etc etc you're using ;)
Thanks!
The pickups are Duncan Custom Invaders, they come stock with the Syn Custom guitar.
In studio he's using:
- Mesa Dual Recto
- Marshall Plexi Bass (with the same cab as mine)
- Diezel VH4
- Bogner Ubershall
All together, mixed up to create that huge sound!
It's almost impossible to...
