    Heartbreaker variable wattage...????

Rectifier Select Switch (Tube/ Silicon Diodes) Full Power/Tweed "Variac" Switch Half Power Switch (100/60 Watt Power Switch) Bold/Curvacious Switch (Power Voicings=Modern/ Normal) These switches give you the option of 16 different watt selection. I guess you could have other options added. But...

Running 2 amps. Channel 2 out of phase

Yes this is normal. On most amps when you change channels you add a gain stage. Every time you add a gain stage you change phase. There is a number of fixes. None I know that are practical or simple. Even if it is a simple issue. I use a Voodoo Laps GCX. Anything that adds a loop can work. I...

Using 3 channel Dual Recto with an multi-fx

I don't believe that amp has any MIDI capabilities.

NAD: Black Mesa Multi Watt Dual Rec

I would recommend using the amp without anything else plugged in at first. Add the other stuff once you become familiar with the amp.

Maverick 1x12 combo - Life changer

Heartbreaker was also part of the original series. So it is a Dual Rectifier and Mark series.

    Mesa Mark V - Sticky/Jerky 5-Band EQ Sliders

I think you got it. I have had amps come back from the dead after cleaning them more than once. I clean them. Lubrication of some type is needed after cleaning.

    Mesa Mark V - Sticky/Jerky 5-Band EQ Sliders

There is cleaners available. Make sure you get one that works for potentiometers and other moving parts. CAIG DeoxIT Pot & Switch Cleaner D5, F5, Gold. Just spray and work the sliders. I clean all my amps at least once a year. Deoxit makes several products for cleaning electronics. The D5 is...

    Mesa Customer Support....MKIV content.

I have all new tubes in it now. But the amp is 31 years old. I am the original owner from the first run. My Tremoverb and Heartbreaker need to go in too.

    EL34 MK IV Question

Your guessing. I'm guessing based on your guess. I'm not going to give advise based on speculation. Your vintage tubes are expensive. A pair of new EL34 are not expensive. I have about a dozen Mullard xf2. I would not put them in my Mark IV as cheap as a new pair of EL34 cost.

    EL34 MK IV Question

All Mesa amps are are on the cold side. I have a lot of tubes. I would not use expensive tubes in a guessing situation.

Back with Boogie MKIV but has some issues

Basically the more the Gain and Treble are turned up the less the rest of the knobs do. I recommend putting the Gain on about 3 and Treble on about 4 or 5. You need to have the sound in the room up loud enough. Soft hitting drummer volume or louder. You can't tell what a car can do if you never...

Back with Boogie MKIV but has some issues

Difficult to say without actually seeing the amp. There isn't any knobs that do nothing. Back your gain way down. To like 3. Are you still hearing no change with some knobs ?

    Assorted questions - MKIV

Mesa only recommends Mesa tubes and at one time recommend GT tubes. Lots of people sell tubes in the correct bias range if you ask. Personally I don't use them because their idea of the correct range isn't always the same as what Mesa designed the amp to use. For instance Eurotubes tends to...

    Tremoverb Fx loop recommendations

The manual gives a detailed explanation on how to use the loop and everything else. It is designed for line level. Other effects are better used in front of the amp.

    Heartbreaker 2x12

No Metal can mean a lot of things. So someone might find a type of metal it does. The open back 2x12 cab isn't what I would use to play metal. The amp into a 4x12 cab is the way I use mine. It can get fairly aggressive. But doesn't get the tight bass I associate with metal.
