Making a custom Mark IV headshell... some questions !

Hi everyone ! A few months ago I bought a second-hand Mark IV widecombo. But Lately I've been playing with the idea of converting it into a head-version. I think I'm going to ask someone to make a custom one for me. Few questions I have: - What kind of wood is used for this headshell ? -...

    Mark IV kind of problem

Thanks for the info ! I also found out how to make the amp default to a certain channel when all the switches are in the off-state. So that way I can switch between the 3 different channels with only the 2 relays from the fcb1010 (no relay switching from the g-major involved anymore). For...

    G major + JMP-1/Mark IV review

Are you using the Factory Presets, or your own custom made ones ? I always make my own presets and never really use the Factory presets, I don't really have that much volume issues. I also have the Mark IV, G-major, fcb1010 and JMP-1 :D (haven't tried the jmp-1 tru the mark IV yet).

    Mark IV kind of problem

The manual says that Microphonic Tube can cause that High pitched whistle sound. Anyone knows what could cause the exploding sound when I switch to lead-channel ? It sounds like you pull the cable out of your guitar without having turned off the amp first.

    Mark IV kind of problem

Hi guys, I have a small issue with my mark IV... I used to switch channels on this amp by using the footcontroller that came with it. When switching channels you always get this little *click* sound, which is normal. Since yesterday I'm using the FCB1010 footcontroller (behringer) to control...

    The Mark IV thread....!!

Channel 2 doesn't have enough gain to get a good heavy metal distortion. But you could use a booster to get a heavier sound out of it. I got my Mark IV two days ago and today I tried using a DS-1 distortion (on my ME-50 multi) in front of Channel 2. It really sounds ALOT heavier. I...

Switching between class A / simul class and triode / pentode

Hi everyone ! Today I've got my new (2nd hand) Mark IV. I love it !!! Now I have a little question: is it safe to switch between Class A / Simul Class and between Triode / Pentode when the amp is turned on ? Or should I turn the amp off, switch, and then turn it back on ? It's probably a...
