Lose Rythm 1 channel when hot

Thanks. R1 and R2 are both a problem. R1 dies and R2 is at reduced levels. I am going to swap in some new tubes but if that doesn't cure it a tech will have next crack at it.

Lose Rythm 1 channel when hot

I'm talking to myself :D OK, more information. I have two Boogies and compared them side by each. 1) First the loss of the rythm channel is NOT due to heat. It is just intermittant. 2) Both rythm channels are at much lower volume on the one with the intermittant channel loss amp...

Lose Rythm 1 channel when hot

I got a beautiful Boogie Mark IV in Maple cabinet. Love it. Lead tones to die for. But tonight it started to have a problem. The lead channel still works. Rythm 2 still works. But Rythm 1 dies. I let it cool and tried it again. Everything worked fine. For a while and then it repeated...

    Problem with Mark IV

    Problem with Mark IV

OK. What I got was: Mesa MK IV Standard retube with 6L6GC's PRICE: 101.00 DESC: A quad of JJ 6L6GC's for a deep fat sound along with 5 JJ ECC83S's with one balanced for the phase inverter in V5. Very fat, full & smooth. So far I am still experimenting. First impression is these are a lot...

    Problem with Mark IV

Oops. I meant 6L6s. I don't want to change to the 6V6s. I just want to replace all the tubes with new to assure continued good tone. I'll check out eurotubes. Thanks

    Problem with Mark IV

OK. I just "sperymented" with my amp. First, I found a tube taped into a spare tube holder on the side of the enclosure. It is/was a Mesa 12AX7-A. It has two pins that are bent. I will toss this as I don't belive in trying to correct bent pins to this extreme. Why the previous owner kept...

    Problem with Mark IV

OK. Thanks. Not sure what a preamp tube is but I'll look into it and replace them all. Can't cost that much. I like learning stuff anyway. 8)

    Problem with Mark IV

Hi all, Well, I bought a used Mark IV for my first real amp and so far I love it. But I have one problem, maybe. When I first power up I always start it on standby and wait about 1 minute. Then go to power on. And this worksfor the 2 rhythm channels. They fire right up and are clen and...

    New Mesa Owner

I'm not really worried about 666. I'm not religeous. I first started with a Fender G-Dec which is still a good investment cause it has built in jams you can play along with and a tuner. But yesterday I plugged in to check the tune on a guitar and forgot to rejack into the Mesa and started...

    Mark IV Manual Discrepancy

Thanks Nomad. I admit I just spent 2 hours fooling with it and I haven't scratched the surface of comprehending all it can do. I did use one setting I got from the net and it is real nice. Full and classic. Having fun. The G-Dec is still there but only as a tuner and play along band.

    Mark IV Manual Discrepancy

Thanks Zakk. Guess it doesn't matter. And from playing with it for an hour I already got some nasty tones. I gotta try those EL34s.

    Mark IV Manual Discrepancy

I am trying to understand all the features of this amp and have discovered that the manual does not match the Amp. So I went online to look for an updated version and it matches my manual. Both of them show the EQ and Lead Voicing switches on the back of the amp and my amp has them on front...

    New Mesa Owner

Yup. I am the same guy. Weird - I used the same name too. 8) Well, maybe I should have chosen SATAN since I am number 666. I am having a very strange day. But things are calming down. I bit of scotch, a dip in the pool with the wife, and now time to read the manual to this beast...

    New Mesa Owner

Hi all, I am new here and also new to Mesa. Today I took the plunge and bought my first real guitar amp. Well, I have a Fender G-Dec which is great for a beginner like me but the next step required something with more tone. But I am concerned about my membership on this board. I noticed...
