    Output Tubes for an LSS

Hey all. Can you change the output tubes of a LSS from EL84's to 6L6 or 6V6 type tubes? If so do you need an adapter? Newbie so go easy :?

    Possible Blown Tube on LSS?

My Rec tube went after about 2 years. Of course I had just re-tubed the whole amp 1 week prior and was told that i wouldn't need a Rec tube as they last for ages :( OP your problem is not the Rec Tube for sure.

    LSS issue. Help Required!

Great :x I only changed the pre and power tubes last Thursday. I didn't get a rec tube because I didn't think I'd need it. Is there any way to tell for sure if the rec tube is blown? Does anything cause the rec tube to blow? Bit of a tube newbie so thanks.

    LSS issue. Help Required!

Hi All, I was just playing my LSS in 5 watt mode. I switched up to 30 watts to give it a bit of a lashing and now the 30 watt mode is all that works on both channels. The 5 and 15 watts gives me nothing!! Any ideas? :?

LSS - How do you get the breakup tone?

Thanks all, especially Russ  I do already like the blues setting and have played around with what most of you have mentioned. I guessed that the real power tube saturation that I was looking for was a high volume tone so I'll just have to wait until I have the ability to crank the amp...

LSS - How do you get the breakup tone?

Hi All, Newbie to all this Valve/Tube tone so I am still finding my feet. I can get some great sounds out of my LSS 1x12 combo but I am just wondering how to get the best use of the valve tone at lower volumes(home studio) Is it best to a) Have the preamp volume full and the Output volume...

    Newbie question on tubes.

Thanks Platypus. I think I'll go for the JJ's. If I don't like them I can always get the Watford ones at a later stage. I only have the MESA tubes to compare them too.

    Newbie question on tubes.

Bob in EuroTubes has given me a package price of $75 plus postage to Ireland which seems very reasonable, actually cheap! This is for the 4 EL84's and the 5 ECC83's. Watford valves in the UK would cost me over twice that price plus the shipping. Are EuroTube JJ tubes of inferior quality? It...

    Newbie question on tubes.

OK it looks like I need 4 EL84's then there seems to be 5 12Ax7's and a bigger tube with 5Y3GT on it. I take it this bigger one is a rectifier tube?? Do I need to change the rectifier tube aswell?

    Newbie question on tubes.

Thanks Ylo. Good point on the spares. I think I'll stick to the Mesa tubes too.

    Newbie question on tubes.

Hi All, I recently discovered what guitars should really sound like with the purchase of a Mesa LSS. Absolutely fantastic amp. Just blows me away. Anyway, I bought it off Ebay and was told that it was 6 months old, however the warranty card is dated 2002 so I guess I was told a lie on its age...
