MK III Needs to see a tech, Recommendations?

Want to thank everyone for the suggestions. I checked the guitar, no fret buzz. Just to make sure pulled out another guitar and it exhibited the same issue. I also played the two guitars unplugged to make sure there were no issues with them. Both play clean. I can check the preamp tubes. I...

MK III Needs to see a tech, Recommendations?

So I disconnected all the effects and moved everything away from the amp. I unplugged the thiele extension and just used the speaker in the combo. Sure enough the buzz was there when certain notes are played. Switched to the thiele and the buzz followed to the thiele. Should a consider...

MK III Needs to see a tech, Recommendations?

I did not give the speaker a thought. I have a thiele enclosure so I can disconnect the one in the cabinet and check the amp with both independently. Let you know the results tomorrow. If I send back to Boogie for tune up do you think they will complain about the J.J. tubes that I am using?

MK III Needs to see a tech, Recommendations?

I replaced all the tubes last year. The buzz rattle from what I can tell is not related to a tube. The idea of sending it back to Boogie may be the solution. I was hoping to get it service here in Maryland because I have a show that I need to do in June that will last three consecutive...

MK III Needs to see a tech, Recommendations?

I have a Mark III that I purchased back in the late 80s. I have replaced all the tubes and I am still experiencing some trouble with the sound. It is hard to describe but on a clean setting when you strike certain notes something in the amp resonates with the sound and seems to put a fuzzy...

    Mark III Lead Channel Tone

I have been having trouble getting a Lead Tone that I like from my Mark III. The amp has 6L6 power tubes with the Simul Class Option. I have tried running in the 15Watt mode but the amp seems to loose something when I switch to the 15 Watt mode. The amp is a combo with a EVM-12 connected to a...

    Mark III Lead channel!

I seek enlightenment! Where would I find information about the R2 / Crunch Volume modification? I would like a description of the problem that solves and then I would like directions on how to complete the modification. If you guys are talking about what I think you are talking about I would...

    spces for theile cab

Send me a message with a FAX Number and a Mailing Address. I have the original specifications on the construction of the cab from EV. I can copy them and send a set to you. The plans are not exactly in line with a Boogie Theile but you can make adjustments as you see fit.

    Recommendations for Tubes

I have verified that I need to replace the tubes in my Mark III. I currently have all Boogie tubes in the amp. I have seen a lot of 12AX7 tubes for sale. Are the recommendations from members as to the warmest sounding 12AX7s or should I just call Mesa and order from them? Power tube also...

Tube Health in 1988 Boogie Mark III

I have been experiencing some strange behavior with my boogie. It just does not sound as good as it should. I notice that the clean sound sometimes contains a rattling buzz to the notes. I started investigating the problem when I accidentally tap the metal plate on the front of the amp when...
