    1978 Super 60 (Mk I) - original owner - SOLD

Ha good question. Maybe they've seen one on Fast & Furious or Graveyard Carz.

    1978 Super 60 (Mk I) - original owner - SOLD

Thanks. I pretty much lost the use of my left hand last year, so my playing days are over. The young players I know now seem to be all about digital amp modeling and playing through their iPads or whatever. I tell them this is like driving a Hemi 'Cuda, it's old, heavy and built to do one...

    Sold - thanks all.

1978 Mark I Rear Panel Questons

My Mark I was a later one, but that switch was not there, I'd suggest it is a mod.

    Mark Series Serial Numbers

Hi, sorry for the delay, just saw this. The switching happens at the footswitch, it just routes the signal between one of the two cables going into the amp. [/URL]

No on the pancake body, yes on the 3-piece neck...

1978 Les Paul - original owner

Hello, Sorry for the (long!) delay in replying, I have been travelling overseas since before Thanksgiving and have just returned. To be honest, I don't know what the defect is, there is some (microscopic) bleeding of the red stain into the binding for about 1/4 inch, or perhaps the color of the...

1978 Les Paul - original owner

Hi, never weighted it actually. Heavy I guess. It is a sustain monster, with the Boogie master volume under 2 you can basically hold a note indefinitely. But I've owned three LP's and can't say it is appreciably heaver than those. Now, if you are used to a strat or an SG, then yes your...

Selling my baby - 1978 Mark I - original owner

First I wanted to say thanks to everyone here who has helped me out recently. After reading all the great stuff, I made the hard choice it is time to let my original Mark I go to someone who can better use her. I am the original owner with all paperwork. Amp is in mint condition, plays great...

    Newbie - Mark I question

Thanks I will check it out. I thought I felt a glass tip inside those metal tubes years ago but not really sure. Are they not as good as a regular preamp tube? BTW heard back from Anvil today - $100 to refoam the case...will probably go for it.

    Newbie - Mark I question

12AX7 as far as I know - in the metal tube. Never been removed. Not really sure what a Fetron is to be honest. Is that the funny metal cap thing you see in old preamps?

    Help Identifying Amp

Again apologies for resurrecting an old post, but yes this looks to be a mid 1978 Mark I, and in very good shape. I think the speaker is an Altec. Tubes look original style also. They must have been building them hot and heavy that summer, I bought one of the very last Mark I's new back in...

    Newbie - Mark I question

Thanks all, yeah these can be amazingly loud amps for their size, never had trouble on stage up against my fellow player's Marshall 100 and doubt I ever turned the master past 5. Before this I burned through a series of Ampeg and Fender amps that ate tubes for breakfast - this one still has the...

    Newbie - Mark I question

Thanks, I'll scan and post the other docs that came with the amp...as I recall there's an original Mark II price sheet and other things. Mine is old school as it gets...60w, no reverb, no EQ, Altec speaker. It's heavy...in the anvil case it's over 50 lbs. They were built like tanks...I...

Apologies if this has been previously posted. This was part of the documentation sent with my late 1978 Mark I

    Mark Series Serial Numbers

Apologies for responding to an older thread (I know that is frowned upon on some boards), but with respect to the transition between Mark I and Mark II's, when I placed my order in fall of 1978 I was given the choice of taking one of the last Mark I's, or waiting a longer for a Mark II. Gigs...

    Newbie - Mark I question

Thanks Don and Markedman for your quick reply. I wrote Anvil a while back to see if they will restore the case, but have yet to hear back. Don't see too many posts on the original Mark 1's here, have they fallen out of popularity or are there just not that many around anymore? Back in the...

    Newbie - Mark I question

Hello, I just recently found this board, wish I had came across it years ago. Anyway, wondering how many Mark I owners there are here. I bought mine back in the fall of 1978 and have been playing it ever since. Arthritis is rapidly taking away my ability to play like I used to so considering...
