IS the Mark IV always simul class?

    OK that's what I thought.

IS the Mark IV always simul class?

Aside from when running in class A is the Mark IV always simulclass? I recently read that it is only simul when running in triode mode but that didn't sound right to me. Definitely got me wondering though.

    Matching Pickups To A Recto

Good to know. I'll have to try them at some point

Introduction and newly acquired Mark IV

I personally would get the vertical recto cab. I really love the v30 speaker. Speakers though are a matter of taste. If you are looking for a hard rock tone, the v30 is hard to beat. Another option would be to keep your marshall cab and replace 2 of the speakers with v30's. The v30 and...

Introduction and newly acquired Mark IV

Good call. I forgot about the full fat and presence. I pull both of them.

    Matching Pickups To A Recto

One of my favorite pickups is the Jb but I have found with my recto that it has a little too much low end and makes the low end of the recto too loose and tubby. At least in my guitar it has a lot of bass. The JB is great with my mark IV because I can roll off some of it in the amp. I also...

Introduction and newly acquired Mark IV

Welcome! I have had a ton of amps and still have 6 or 7 and my Mark IV is my favorite still! You made a good choice. I would say yes to all of those settings. Another thing to keep in mind is that on the Mark series of amps the bass, treble, and mid controls are before the preamp...

    Simul-Class tone

I'm curious about the same thing. The new JP 2C got me thinking about it.

    JP2C non simul class?

I wonder if it sounds much different than a non-simul?

    JP2C non simul class?

I am assuming that the amp is non simul-class is this correct? Also, what are your opinions on how this would affect the tone vs and mark iv or v? I'm just curious as to what the perceived differences would be.

    Unloaded Mesa 4x12's

Definitely the way to go, you could make good money selling the speakers.

Is this true? Quad pre won't work without FU-2?

I have one and you can indeed use the 1/4" jacks to change channels. Another advantage to this is that you can actually run channel 1 and 2 at the same time for some unique sounds. You can get a universal switcher with 1/4" plugs on ebay or just use a shorted 1/4" jack and plug it into the...

    To tighten

This is definitely the way to do it. I agree with the way you described the bass knob.

    Does anyone use Extreme?

At first I found it to be too much. It is if you are playing around with your IIC+ settings and IV settings at loud volumes and switch right to extreme. But once I got used to it I love Extreme mode, just have to back down n the volume and tweak a little bit.

Mark V with 4X12 mesa cabinet on CL $1000

Can't beat that deal. Even if you have to put some work into it.

    Hetfield Mark V 25

I personally think the Black Album had a killer tone. Not just guitar, but drums and bass as well. They just sounded so massive.

I need to make a decision FAST!! help me

Yeah definitely the v30. I would choose the Mesa. Their version of the v30 is a little darker and smoother. Plus their cabs are built very very well. However you can't go wrong with any v30. Def not the genz benz.
