Hey all, I have 2ch Dual rectifier revision post g, which is with all the different details like small logo, non attachable power cord, schumacher transformer etc. It has a gain mod, but i can mod it back to stock if necessary. Also got new tubes about 8 months ago, worth 250€, Kt66/kt88 combo...

So i did the mod as described by Magic, and I must say, that turned it into a gain monster man. I have what what usually be gain at 3 o'clock now at 9:00 and the rest is just insane. Im not sure why you would want that much gain tho, It got really fizzy at about 1 o'clock It also removed my use...

Hey JC, I'd love some pics for further experimenting, when I've done the basics as Magic mentioned in the earlier post I'll post some comparison clips later, when I get some pots!

So I realise that this thread has evolved a lot from when it started, and after reading the whole thread multiple times, and I've come to the conclusion, that I'm pretty lost in what the answer to a nicely modded 2ch rectifier without rewiring any gain stages or anything too complicated is. I...

Its not the general story of the early rectos I care about, but the history particularly for this specific amp :wink:

Don't do it stotch! The 808 is not the way to go! I actually played a lot of tube screamers/overdrives on my 2 ch recto because I had the EXACT same problems as you. Im a student, and recently switched to a recto from my line6 spider(lol, I know) and had problems with the missing gain i was used...

Oh no, I most certainly ain't thinking about getting rid of it. It is indeed amazing, but I just care more about the unknown history of this amp, more than the previous owner apparently.. :roll:

Wow, thanks for clearing that up, sure helped a lot! first, about the transformer serial, does that mean that the EIA606 has nothing to do with it being a Schumacher, or is it still a Schumacher? Both of the transformers has the EIA606, just with a different number afterwards. I actually wrote...

Aha... How are they compared to the originals? And also, at the exact place where the inspection date of the amp is written, mine says "K.P" instead. What the **** is that supposed to mean?

Hey guys, I just got my first Recto in, and its a 2 channel Rev G. S/N 3276 But I looked at that site that helps you identify your recto, and supposedly the schumacher trannys have written "E1A 606" So I checked mine, and It says "E1A606 249" So I thought, "Cool, it has schumachers in it!" But...

alright then... Is switching the internal power transformer difficult? (and expensive?) And any idea how pricey those external ones are? Thanks again!

Hey guys, I'm considering buying a 2 ch Rev G rectifier, I found on eBay, but I read here something about the current not 'just working with an adapter' if used for the european electricity system. Do I need to freakin mod the power cord to fit the outlet in europe, or do I need a transformer...
