    Bias mod?

That is, of course, possible... but at least the first set of tubes has a half-year warranty. Also, when I had my Mark II, I never swapped any tubes and it sounded just great for maybe 3 years. It was already second-hand then. I'm all for healthy scepticism, but I tend to trust Mesa based on my...

    Bias mod?

Gotcha. On the other hand, for the average user, Mesa tubes won't cost too much and getting them is nowadays no problem, either. I do understand the need to tweak everything we can get our hands on, of course. To make it quite clear, I don't exactly know why I stuck my nose into this...

    Bias mod?

The way I read the 5:25 manual, I'll never think of tweaking things that have been tweaked well enough by some of the best professionals in the amp business. Why would the amp sounds so great otherwise? I understand that since the model is not the most expensive it must have some compromise...

Gold nuggets for Gibson Les Paul Standard and 5:50 or 5:25?

Hi, I have a Standard and a 5:25 - and I'm curious to see what kinds of settings others have found. The ones in the Mesa manual are just great, and I'm experimenting, of course... but still, if any of you out there have found something that really works for you, please post the settings! I...

Big volume difference when switching between Blues and Burn

I think any tube-related problem would be heard throughout the amp at any setting. So, I'm fairly sure the volume difference is intended and should be the way it is.

    Question about impedance

Hi all, I thought I would ask before doing anything stupid. If I plug my 8 Ohm cabin into a 4 Ohm output, will this harm either the head or the cabin in any way? Also, what will happen? I imagine it should lessen the volume somewhat, which is what I'm after. I play at home in a flat, and I...

First post...Sell my Two Rock and get a 5:50???

I'll have to confess, at first, that I have never tried a Two-rock. What I can tell you, though, is that I had a Mesa Mark II some ten years ago - and I never wished for anything else. Didn't even cross my mind. I then quit my band and traded in the Mark II for a Martin acoustic of almost the...

    Fresh 5:25 - great!

Hi all, I just bought a new 5:25. I was lucky to get it for a reasonable price. Impressive all through so far! I've been playing at low volumes at home so I haven't tasted the full range yet - but judging by my experience with the Mark II I had ages ago, I think I'm in for a treat once our...

Mesa Express 5:25 Loss of Power and Definition

How did it end? This is an old thread that has been left suspended over our heads. I just bought a 5:25 so I'm obviously interested in knowing what happened, man!

    Mesa Express 5:25 Bias Resistor

Sorry if I'm repeating something that got said - but did you already check the very basic things like cables, voltage, impedance, stuff like that? Also, did you test the amp without any pedals and so forth? What is certain, in any case, is that you definitely did NOT get screwed, no matter what...
