It's funny that you mentioned John Petrucci. His mark series tones are what I'm trying to approximate. The lead tone I'm completely happy with. A bit more girth and I'll be close on the rhythm tone. I read that the DC amps have a rectifier flavor in the lead channel but I don't hear it at all...

Nailed it with the cab clone! The second recording was too muffled. I do prefer darker tones when I'm playing at home but those tones don't often translate well to recordings or sound good in a mix.

Gosh, this is a tough decision, lol. I'm kinda leaning towards the flexibility of the V:25 paired with the PS. I can always leave it behind if it isn't needed and have awesome portability. I do wish I could hear the tone difference between the two though.
