    Mark V or Badlander

Many of the videos I've heard, the lead tone does sound very Mark like to me. Smooth and fluid! Glad to hear this is actually the case.🙂

    Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

Figured I would update this thread with my experience. I have a late 09 Mark V and I'm pretty sure it was made before the update to the tone stack. When I first plugged this amp in I was immediately taken aback by this shrill, metallic frequency that I did not remember from either my first Mark...

    Help with DC-5 bottom end.

Thanks so much for doing that, I'm sure the results will be helpful to others also! And you've got a great tone there man. It's just amazing that these 20+ year old DC's sound this good. Mine sounds better to me than my Mark V did. Crushing rhythm and same smooth, liquid lead tones too.

    Help with DC-5 bottom end.

Got a chance to crank the DC up today for the first time. Good grief! It sounded amazing! There seems to be this in between volume just above a low bedroom level that sounds really muddy, buzzy, and kinda bad all around that had me worried about if I had made the right choice with this amp. Once...

    Help with DC-5 bottom end.

It's funny that you mentioned John Petrucci. His mark series tones are what I'm trying to approximate. The lead tone I'm completely happy with. A bit more girth and I'll be close on the rhythm tone. I read that the DC amps have a rectifier flavor in the lead channel but I don't hear it at all...

    Help with DC-5 bottom end.

If you can believe it, neither guitar center nor the other store in town had a 4x12 cabinet for me to try. I'm betting though that a combination of some attenuation and a cab might just give me enough of what I'm after. Probably try the attenuator first as what you described sounded good. I...

    Help with DC-5 bottom end.

Thanks jedi, you gave me just the info I needed to know! Going to take my amp to the store today and try it on a few different cabs! 8) Would definitely be interested in what kind of results you get with the attenuators also!

    Help with DC-5 bottom end.

Hey everyone. Just got my DC-5 combo a week ago and have been loving the very Mark like tones this thing can provide. The one thing I would like to get some advice on is if there's a way to get more thump or low end punch at lower volumes? I have the c90 speaker in mine and have had that speaker...

Recorded tone comparison's on a Mark V25 playing Motley Crue

Nailed it with the cab clone! The second recording was too muffled. I do prefer darker tones when I'm playing at home but those tones don't often translate well to recordings or sound good in a mix.

Mark V:25 with Fryette PS or V:35

Gosh, this is a tough decision, lol. I'm kinda leaning towards the flexibility of the V:25 paired with the PS. I can always leave it behind if it isn't needed and have awesome portability. I do wish I could hear the tone difference between the two though.

Mark V:25 with Fryette PS or V:35

It's exactly the versatility I'd have with the PS and V:25 that's making this a tough decision. :)

Mark V:25 with Fryette PS or V:35

Thanks for the advice guys. Yeah, the V:25 is enough MOST of the time but then there's those times when it's like I'm wishing it had just a tad more and it would be perfect, which i guess is the reason mesa did the 35. My real decision is that if I can get the same tone from the 35 with a bit...

Mark V:25 with Fryette PS or V:35

Hey everyone! I just purchased a new Mark V:25 about a week ago and I have to say having owned the full size V a while back, for whatever reason I prefer the tones I'm getting from this better than the 90 watter. My question is, I have the opportunity to take the V:25 back and swap it for the...

Dual Rectifier solo head blues settings?

Glad you found something you like. Low mids in that mode makes a smooth tone. :) Chris

Dual Rectifier solo head blues settings?

Oh, and don't forget the serial loop mod and a good delay to complete the package...or at least the delay! Chris

Dual Rectifier solo head blues settings?

Well I have a Tremoverb, so not exactly the same beast but I suspect you can achieve a similar result with your amp. First I finally stopped trying to find settings online and just read the manual, lol. I figure the guys that designed it probably have some of the best insights into how to set it...

    Tremoverb Questions

Well guys it seems the Road King is likely going to be a bit out of my budget and I've been hearing good things about the Tremoverb. I had a series 1 Rectoverb for a while and got what seemed to me to be a reasonably tight bottom end and a really smooth and warm lead tone in the vintage mode...
