I would switch the tubes just for reliability reasons, I'd even inspect it just to get an all clear, as I've had an issue with mine since I've gotten it that requires me to send it to Petaluma.
I own both Road King II and Tremoverb combos, and honestly, the Tremoverb has something about it that's just meaner. My rig is inspired by Mike from Incubus (aforementioned) and the Tremoverb nails the SCIENCE, Make Yourself, and Morning View tones with a PRS. Those all involve extreme heavy...
You know, this is one of the few times I can honestly say I'm extremely excited to hear and see this amp.
The thing is, I've owned only my two Rectos (as far as Boogies go), but it would be totally sweet to maybe try something different alongside them one day, just 'cause it really is...
So, this one has had me pretty much puzzled. Anyways, I've been pretty much avoiding turning on my Tremoverb since I got it in February, because I could not afford to fix the LDRs and potentially blown Vintage 30, until about a week ago.
I turned it on, and played through it for about an hour...
Thank you SO MUCH! I have a combo too, which makes it extra hard, compared to my Tremoverb. My future roadies hate me enough for it when setting up.
Also, it's been making a vibrating sound when I palm mute, almost like something's flapping around inside it. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I have had one source tell me that it could be a blown speaker.
So, I think my Tremoverb has a bad LDR. It's a '98 combo, and keeps cutting in and out from normal volume to a quiet fizz in the red channel. The Orange channel also gets extremely quiet, so it is possible that there could be more than one bad LDR. All tubes are good, just freshly fully retubed...
For me, it goes between the Electra Dyne, and my Road King II and Tremoverb. I've played other Duals (Road Kings, original 2 channels, Reborns, etc.), all of the Marks, Stilettos, Lone Stars, and Nomads, but I really like those three.
Hey there, guys. Just thought I'd give a gear demo. The Tremoverb and Road King II are included. I apologize in advance for the noise/hum, as I plan to get an ISP Pro Rack G.
Here goes!
