    Installing EVM12L in Vertical 2x12

So I actually left the t nuts and rear mounted it right away, using regular nuts on the front side. To clarify though, my question is: is it ok to leave it rear mounted? The concern stems from having the weight distribution being further back putting more stress on the baffle board than if...

    Installing EVM12L in Vertical 2x12

I have a 2x12 vert recto that originally had V30s in it. I decided to put an EVM-12L in the bottom and a C90 on top (sounds great with the MKIII). At first I added T-nuts and front loaded the EV, but while it didn't quite fit in the hole, I was able to make it work. The problem is the cloth...

Mesa Mark III- Best amp I've owned..

I've had my fully loaded blue stripe for three or four years now and I also name it the best amp I've owned. One thing I like is that with this amp I hear every little nuance in my playing. I had an opportunity to by a wide green stripe head when I was 19, but I never would have been able to...

microphone placement when recording your cabinet

I don't mind using an SM57, but I have been using the AKG C1000s with the hypercardioid adapter for a while now. I place it about 2 inches away facing the edge of the speaker. Even with a full band, it pretty much ignores the other instruments, nearly zero bleed. I have used a second...

    First Axe

I just did a quick image search and found this pic. I never thought I would see a picture of one of these, but this was my first guitar It's a 60s Hagstrom. I got it from my uncle for xmas in 1986, I was 12. He was doing some contractor work at some lady's house and saw it in the corner. I...

    Bourbon and Cigars/High Quality Tobacco

I started smoking a pipe a couple years ago, and I have been known to enjoy a good IPA along with a fill of a nice English blend. I never knew how enjoyable tobacco could be until I quit smoking cigarettes, and eventually later took up the pipe. Also I found that with the cigs I was a slave...

Looking to purchase a 1985 Mark III, need some info

I paid 8 for my blue rev eq simul combo last year. It seems like there are plenty of them to go around so getting a good deal on a loaded one should be feasible.

    NBD (new baby day)

I bought that same amp a year ago and it's the best amp I have ever owned. I got tired of the 75 pound combo and transplanted it into a headshell. I bet it sounds amazing through that Marshall 1960

    Mesa 2x12 Vert questions

What it boils down to is if you want to use three evm12l, you would need to have one 8 ohm (in the combo) and two 16 ohm (in the recto). The two speakers in the recto need to be wired in parallel to make them total 8 ohms, then you can use the two 4 ohm outputs from the amp safely.

    Mesa 2x12 Vert questions

gts is right. I was assuming that you would replace the speakers with 16 ohm and that your cab would come with a pair of 16 ohm v30 (mine did).

    Mesa 2x12 Vert questions

The cab should fit fine. You can run the combo and the amp by plugging them into the two 4 ohm outputs. The speaker terminals are soldered inside the Recto. As far as replacing speakers goes - well I've done it, I didn't think it was a problem. I believe the v30s would sell on ebay for around...

    Post your pedalboard

My current board. I have been running it with a PRS Hollowbody II into a MkIII Blue/2x12v. It's raised 4" in the back - I think it improves the sweep of the volume and the wah, plus it makes it easier to access the upper level without hitting the dials of the lower level.
