+1. Mine pops until I cycle through all the channels with the power on. After that, no pop.

I own a roadster head and mine is very quiet and I do not use a noise gate...or any ohter pedals on the front end. Awhile back, I did start to notice considerable hiss, but it turned out that the ground wire on my guitar was loose.

I've noticed the same. My setup never leaves my home studio and using the same guitar, cable, effects, settings, etc., it seems to sound different every time I play...sometimes for the better.

Congrats shnapper! You new rig looks real familar...exact same setup I have. :D I've also found ch-2 brit to be pretty good with the bridge bucker. I've been using 50-watt, recto, spongy...gives me a break from vintage/modern. Enjoy your new amp!

With no effects in the loop it acts as another output control. I too discovered this by accident. I run mine at a little higher than the middle position. I read somewhere on this board that running it a little high would tighten up the bass, although I can't honestly say I can tell the diff...

I own one and have not heard the popping noise. But I always go to standby first then I wait about 5-10 secs before i power down.

Same experience here. I bought my roadster and a new 4x12 cab in june. after a couple weeks I was ready to sell...sounded harsh, but decided that I might regret it later so I held on to it. Glad I did! Sounds great now. I think the speakers just needed some break in.
