    Nomad 45 reverb tube?

No reverb tube in Nomads, it is driven by an IC. The only thing I would know to check is to wiggle the cables. Good luck

    Blue Angel epiphany

Another BA fan here, it has been getting most of my time for a year or two now. And no, I don't turn up loud. The amp came with a master volume mod which I never use. It is switchable on the back. Flip the switch and the effects level knob becomes a master. I assume that would defeat the...

    NAD - Blue Angel 1x12

Yeah man welcome to the club! I have a 2x10, it gets most of my time these days. Enjoy

My DC-5's reverb is not working.

Yeah plus one on the previous post. First suspect is the tube. Next. The RCA cables. The DC has no foot switch for the reverb? I forget but that's another connection to check if there is. I ended up replacing the tank in my old DC-3 years ago. Good news is tanks are not expensive and you can...

Maverick... tweak it or trade it.

Yeah I'd say keep it, I'm keeping mine. Great amp for me, I just wish it was a 1x12 instead of two, its so heavy. Now as for sound. I like the clean channel so much that I never use the lead channel. This is important because the lead channel sounds awful, it must be messed up. Just total mud...

which od/distortio pedal do you run in front of your Boogie?

Well, none. The Mesa amp sent my old tube screamer to the back of the shelf. Nowadays I play pretty clean. I use the Blue Angel or Maverick set to just break up a little. Sold the DC-3 and Nomad years ago.

    Blue Angel

Well this could be anything, who knows what may have fried. But yeah, check the simple stuff first. As said before, swap some tubes and double check connections before bringing it to the shop. I assume the pilot light is on? A bum rectifier tube will cut off the amp like that.

    Nomad Questions

I sold my 55. I don't recall any switching glitches with it, it worked smoothly. I remember I could dial in the gain channels in a way that was sensitive, a light touch and I could hear chords clean, then dig in and it would break up nice. I kept gain settings as low as I could, didn't go for...

The Blue Angel is in the house / speakers??

I was just playing the Angel now. The stock alnicos are out of the amp. I put one in the Princeton, it O.K. In there but I liked the Kendrick better. The two Kendrick's are in the BA. Definatly better than the trebly stock speakers but they do break up quick. I just had the Angel plugged into...

    Hey Maverick owners

I've done some tube swapping already, not much difference. As for the other EQ controls, they can go up or down and not make a great difference. Again, treble on ten bass on zero, and it sounds like the lead tone from SWABLR .

    Hey Maverick owners

Hey folks, I have a Maverick 2x12 that I like a lot. I am a blues/country kind of player and the clean channel suits me fine. The lead/drive channel is not useful to me, very muddy to my ears, I never switch it on.Not a big deal to me but now I'm wondering if I might as well get it fixed. It's...

    maverick help. NOW WITH VIDEO!

I just went down and tried mine. Yeah it has about the same amount of "rush" noise as your video. Plugging in an axe changed the sound a little bit. Funny thing is I never noticed this before, I would have said the thing was quiet. I just never get the volume settings up that high. And yeah it...

    1993 Studio Caliber DC-2 Reverb

I had a DC-3, very nice reverb good enough for surf music. I had to replace the tank but mine was clearly busted. The problem with mine was a harsh reverb tone and also the reverb control was turning the treble tones up and down too. Your tank could still be bad without looking broken. Try a...

    single notes carry a "buzz"

I just went through a round of buzz chasing myself. It turned out to be the guitar. It was a little static crackle sound that came and went, sounded a lot like a bum speaker or tube. It was confusing because it did it louder on one amp than another. Good luck, buzz chasing can drive ya nuts.

    missing chassis bolt

I don't see the bolt in question on my Blue Angel 2x10 either, and I'm trying to track down a rattle. Maybe they all didn't come with this bolt?

Nomad 100 crackle and pot issue

That is a bit weird, touching the pot causing noise. Dosen't sound like a tube to me. But you may as well try replacing some tubes, could be the easy fix. Try the tap trick, with the amp on gently tap each tube with the eraser end of a pencil. Sometimes a bum tube will will make a rattle/buzz...

    Chassis rattle?

Played with the band last night. Amp was a hit. The rattle isn't noticable in this situation, but..... I'll take it apart again, this time with some company. Another guy suggested that it was a pot too. I've never seen a rattling pot before. So back to searching for things to tighten. The...

    Chassis rattle?

Here is a weird one. The Blue Angel is on its shakedown cruise. So far I like it. But I have a odd noise. It is the same sort of slight rattle that you would think is a buggy preamp tube. Like sand falling in a big glass jug. It seems to be coming from the chassis. That is, tap on it and you...

What tubes are in your amp and why?

Well hang me if you want but I don't freakin' know! Well not exactly. All my amps have a mixed bag of preamp tubes in them. Mesa, ElectroHarmonix, Groove Tube, JJ, all scatterd about at this point. I change preampers when they get noisey. Honestly, after changing tubes in a variety of amps for...

The Blue Angel is in the house / speakers??

Still experimenting here. Still havn't had much time to play. So far I'll say the BA sounds better rigged into the Kendrick 10, very nice but did not get to crank it with a drummer. Also think I like this better than the Marshall 4x10 I tried it in. Plugged into the stock speaker on a Blues...
