    Mismatch?

I am going away tomorrow to do some session work, I am in the studio from first thing in the morning until very late at night. I normally use a Boogie MK V with two 1x12 cabs both loaded with 16ohm tonkerlites (wired in parallel) Would it be safe for me to take one 16ohm cab? This would mean it...

    Chan 1 distortion

Hope someone can help I recently revolved my MK V with JJ's and it has been sounding fine, however, yesterday Chan 1 (I only use chan 1) was distorted and also seemed very thin, I had to increase the bass and decrease the treble, it was very distorted dispute the setting being on Clean, full...

Ever re-housed a MKV from combo to head?

I did this, got a pro cab maker to make a head and cab for my Mk V combo as it was just too heavy... Loaded the 2x12 cab with two eminence Tonkerlites (keeping the weight down). Including the speakers it came to the same price as Boogie charge for just a plain black head shell.

    Mark V headshell

Has anyone successfully built a headshell for a Mark V, if so would it be possible to have inside measurements + anything else I may need to be aware of etc... To buy the basic 'black' from Boogie is $800 / £490 which I think is way over priced (thanks to UK tax/customs etc). I have spoken to a...

    Bad sounding MK V combo

Think I'm getting somewhere, had a good play with it today, still a bit raspy though... The exotic AC seems to be a lot smoother to the ear but I will keep on going, I just hope I get the same sound at a gig etc.. I put it into 45 watt mode and will try that at my gigs, love the clean sound with...

    Mk V tone.

Don't really know, I just didn't seem to be getting there with it, got a decent sound one night but needed more volume... I adjusted the chan master as the clean chan vol was fine, and I lost the sound.... Couldn't get it back ended up thin and cheap sound, just can't get that Carltonish sound...

    Bad sounding MK V combo

Thanks for the reply.... The strat I use has EMG's on and it sounds good, though I use only the clean chan (1) with various pedals Inc the Xotic AC, I have my rev, delay chorus via the loop. I was hoping to use the other chans when I do function gigs using my Gibson CS 356 (hoping to get that...

    Bad sounding MK V combo

Done a few gigs now with my new CS356 (stock), Strat (EMG) and the MK V combo. The 356 guitar does not seem to drive the MK V, the clean sound is just flat & lifeless. The chan 2 is also very weak & thin, when in crunch it also sounds like I have a compressor on full (I don't). Chan 3 well -...

    Mk V tone.

Things are looking good on the MK V front. I had a play today and did the'out of the box' approach. I got a nice warm sound out of chan 2 with the Crunch setting. (I found the MK 1 setting to saturated & compressed sounding), I need to work on chan 3 now. I have a Juicer compressor on my board...

    stetsbar

I have put a stetsbar on my Gibson CS 356. It's easy to fit - took about 10 mins. I like it, it feels a little strange at first (very light to the touch) tuning on the guitar is fine (I also used big bends nut sauce).
