Best pedals to improve the Mark series overdrive tone

I very much like the grid slammer. Also acts as a 4th channel when run thru the clean channel.

    I don't love my Mark V

...just responding to the subject line: The only thing about my Mark V I don't like is carrying it. Other than that, we's all good! 8)

Do you boost your Mark V?

I tried playing around with a tube screamer and a TC mini spark boost, and it didn't really do anything for me. I've always felt I have what I need just using the Mark V. So now all I use is a tuner and a Bud wah.

    TC Electronics Spark Mini Booster

I just bought one to use with my Mark V:35 head. It's a GREAT pedal! I set my gain to about 9:30-10:00 with the Xtreme setting, and turn the knob about halfway up, and it's like giving my amp a 3rd channel. Love it!!

Recomendation needed - clear sounding overdrive pedal

I got the TC Spark Mini yesterday, and tried it out last night. Firstly, it works perfectly. I set channel 2 in Xtreme mode and set my gain at 9:30-10:00. With the Spark's knob turned about halfway, it really turns up the heat on channel 2! This pedal rocks, and has turned my Mark V:35 into...

Recomendation needed - clear sounding overdrive pedal

I ordered a TC Spark mini. This seems to be the way to go for uncolored boost. Thanks for the help everyone!

Recomendation needed - clear sounding overdrive pedal

Hi everyone! I've been experimenting with my Mark V:35, trying to use an overdrive pedal into ch2 while running it semi-dirty, and using the OD to achieve more gain. Kinda like trying to make a 2 channel amp into a 3 channel amp. Trouble is, every OD pedal I've tried seems to make the tone...

    Channel 2 - no gain

I had the same problem with my V:35. Worked just fine the night I bought it. Next day, no gain from Ch2. I always keep spares, so I tried the spare in all preamp tube slots until I got my gain back. Works fine now.

Mark V:35 Say WHAT?!?! Short Head and 1x12 combo

I've been a Mark V (Head) user for 5+ years. I played thru a V:35 combo a couple of weeks ago and was really impressed! I'll be buying the head in about a week. It'll be so nice to use whichever amp I need for any given situation. I can use the head with the Cabinet Simulator when I sit in...

Mesa Power amps: 6L6 and EL34?

I don't really know how they can call it Sumul-Class, but here's what they say: "Simul-Class magic comes from the pairing of two separate and different power amps working together simultaneously to produce one gorgeous tone. For each channel, one pair of 6L6s operates in Class AB delivering...

Right now, I'm on my second (!) 1983 V65 Magna. It's a great bike, been riding them for about 16 years. But........the V-Rod is looking REAL nice!

Mesa Power amps: 6L6 and EL34?

As far as I know, only the 2:50 and the 2:100 can be used with either 6l6 or el34s. I have heard that the 50/50 and 2:90 can be modded for use with el34s.
