    Odd noise

I have a Mesa Fillmore 25 head and the the cab that goes with it, a 12 in Black Shadow. An odd noise comes out, much like a very fast tremolo and the sound also becomes muddy when I play the minor seventh interval B (6th string 7th fret) and A (5th string 7th fret) or the major seventh interval...

    Mark 5 25 combo 10

I'm interested in this amp. I would like to have some comments on it by people who played with it. Thanks in advance.

    Boxy ?

Just received my Fillmore 25 head and the Fillmore 19 cab. Sounds a little bit boxy, whatever the settings. Could it be because the speaker is not "broken in" yet ? If so, how long to break in a speaker ?

    Fillmore 25 head vs combo

Is there a noticeable difference between the sound of the Fillmore 25 head (with the cab Fillmore 19) and the combo ?

    Voicings

I asked this question in the Express forum more than a week ago but I had no answers up to now. Maybe I will have more chance here. Here it is : I understand that the 9 voicings of the MK V are reproductions or copies of older Mesas. Is this the same with the Express 5:25+ ? Are the 4 voicings...

    The voicings of the 5:25+

I understand that the 9 voicings of the MK V are reproductions or copies of older Mesas. Is this the same with the 5:25+ ? Are the 4 voicings reproductions of older Mesas ? If so, from wich models do they come from ?

    Mark 5 25 cab

I presently have an Express 5:25 Plus combo. I'm interested by the new Mark V 25 head but I don't know what kind of cab to go with it. I want something light (1x12 is ok). 1- What's the difference between a close back and an open back ? 2- What's the difference between the different Mesa 1x12...

    Mini Rec voltage

Does somebody knows what is the secure range of voltage, minus and plus 120v, between witch a Mini Rec can work safely ?

    Standby use

How do you use the Standby ? I mean, how long do you leave your amp on Standby between sets ? Is there a maximum amount of time after wich it is better to close the amp ? As I understand it, the tubes stay hot when in Standby so I would like to know what's happening then, the pros and cons of...

    Testing : 1, 2..., tweed !

Until last week-end, I almost exclusively used only the TopBoost (ch.1) for cleans (with no master) and a bit crunchy and H1 or H2 for lead and dirt (more attack on H1 and more "singning" on H2). But last week-end, at a jam, I decided that it was time to test the... reverse : lead and dirt with...

    voltage

It's the second power tube that blows out on my TA30. I'm ignorant about almost everything that concerns electricity but I was wondering if this had to do with the voltage in this particular place where I jam. I tested it yesterday and it indicated that the voltage was oscillating between 127...

    Humbuckers or singles ?

Since I've got my TA 30 back, I did'nt really have the time to experiment seriously, one gig and one jam where I stuck to what I knew, that is : top boost on channel 1 and HI 2 on channel 2. But I tried two guitars, my Godin Flat Five X (wich is the predecessor of the Montreal) wich has 2...

    TA-30 reverb problem

There are 2 or 3 threads where this topic has been discussed, so it seems as a good idea to regroup all this in one thread. It will be easier to follow the infos. Here's an update : - New owners of the TA-30 (mainly heads I think, would like to know from combo owners) have reported a problem...

    Got my TA-30 but... !

You can imagine that I was excited to take my newly arrived TA-30 head to my weekly jam yesterday. But after an hour or so, problems arrived: 1- When changing channels (with or without the footswitch) the sound shut up completely, not even a hum ! I had to toggle between the 3 steps of the...

    LSS head width

On Mesa's site, they give 2 different width for a LSS head : one of 23 in. and the other of 27 in. Besides the width, are there other differences between the two ? If not, what is it for : aesthetic ? To make it fit better on different cabs ?
