OD\Dist. pedals. What do you guy s use

I agree with the amp being turned up sounding better. I play as loud as I can to get the big tube sound. That and to get a good tickle in very special places  . Nothing beats a crunk tube amp. I do have the on board EQ but i have never really tried messing with it as this is the first amp...

OD\Dist. pedals. What do you guy s use

Currently I am using a stock 87 Mark III mostly with an 82 strat with Suhr vintage 60's and a DiMarzio Fast Track II. I also use a stock Epiphone Dot and an Epiphone Les Paul Standard. In pedals I use a Boss noise gate, an Ernie Ball volume, a Crybaby 535Q, and a RAT. I love the clean and the R1...

OD\Dist. pedals. What do you guy s use

Seems that I am on an endless search to find a tone I am satisfied with. I have tried several pedals (mostly Boss) and the amp channels and none of them are quite right. The pedals mostly sound a little to fizzy or I don't get the sustain I am after with them. Pedals I have tried: Boss DS-1...

First Post!!!Got myself a Mk.III any tone tips?

Congrats and welcome. My experience with my MarkIII is kind of a love hate relationship. Some days I can turn it on and it sounds like a Mesa should (bad *** tone). Some days it seems like things never get warmed up and the tone is very "thin". Could just be my ears though. Some people have told...

Building a rack case for my MarkIII head. Need some advice.

I am planning to build a rack case for my MarkIII head, a tuner, EQ, possibly a preamp, etc..... I plan to make the front and rear panels removable for live use (obviously). My question is if I use foam around the head to protect it and have the front and back open, will that be enough...

My Mark III dodged a bullet...yet again

Agreed!!! Sorry to highjack but I have an 87 Mark III head and 4x12 cabinet with the Mesa black shadows. I have read here that there are much better speakers out there then the black shadows. What would you guys recommend? The style I play is usually a bluesy rock or driving country thing. A...

Whitesnake 87 Mark III Settings, suggestions?

Whether or not a dist\OD pedal is needed depends on the user (of course). I have used a few diffrent dist\od pedals with mine. I am currently using a RAT but in the past I have used a DS-1, Blues Driver, Metal Zone, and the OD\dist that Boss makes (I don't remember the model number). I plan on...

    Help me identify this Boogie

My MarkIII has an additional switch. I have power, standby, full or half power, and the 3 way EQ switch. Now let me say that the only mesa i have ever been associated with is mine so i may be a little out of my league here.
