    DR 2 channel vs DC5

Sorry if this is not in the right forum. So long sorry short, I got into some hot water after losing my job and had to sell my amps, all but one of my pedals, and my Orville Les Paul. So now all I have left is my Gibson SG Gothic that I bought when I was 14, a Phase 90, Boss TU2, and a Randall...

    half-power question about the DR

So say if on a DR, you wanted to switch it to 50 watts and use the tube rectification, at that point would you only use one tube for the rectifier or both?

Save up for a 2 channel DR or 3 channel one?

I am thinking of selling my 50 caliber plus head and upgrading to a DR. I guess my problem is, it seems like it is getting harder to find the 2-channel DR's ,which was used by some of my favorite bands (CoC, Soundgarden), but it seems like they do not go for cheap since people want to keep them...

Duncan JB Vs. Dimarzio Super Distortion??

The JB sounds great in an LP too, I always found the best way to get around 'ice-pick mids' sound is to roll the tone down to about 7 or 8.

Why do you think MB always gets dissed

I always notice a lot of keyboard jockeys or guys in guitar shops slamming MB and why do you think that is? I personally think most just associate it with the dual rectifier and all those terrible bands that didn't take the time to really work the controls. Plus, they themselves may have...

Does the MB factory still do that 50 caliber mod?

scottcrud, yeah it certainly does and when I slam that Catalinbread SCOD in front of it, it gets this good fuzzyish tone that I love. No it is a '+' model, I just meant like many people who own it, I can't get a good clean and lead channel without sacrificing one for the other. Just like a...

Does the MB factory still do that 50 caliber mod?

Hey guys, I own a Mesa Boogie 50 caliber plus and I love it. The problem is like the shared lead master and so as a result, you really can get only one good channel. So what I resorted to a lot of times is to cranked the clean channel in till it started breaking up and then running a...
