    Help me choose...

Hi all - I currently play a small boutique combo (a Top Hat Club Royal). I love it, but when I play live I play a very diverse set list. Anything from real poppy stuff to hard rock. Not so much metal, but we do do the occasional synth metal type thing w/ some drop-D action. It's hard for me...

    Roadster, Mark IV, Diezel

Better. I think you could add another .5 db of 50hz to the kick just to make it thump a bit. Then, add some 800 hz to the bass. It's a little bit too scooped for my taste. However... this is a big improvement. -tom

    Rack switching and looper system?

I'm great with parameters. I'm was a recording engineer for many many years (still am part time). I've been tweaking for decades. I do agree that a lot of time pedals can yield better sounds. I would just use the processor for time based effects.

    Roadster, Mark IV, Diezel

Here's my comments. The guitars have a good start. There's no low mids in the mix and very little bottom at all. Over all a very thin sounding mix. What speakers are you mixing on? Are they over emphasizing the low end? The guitars image sounds bigger when they go cleaner in the :40's and...

    Rack switching and looper system?

Hi all - I'm looking for recommendations for rack switching and looping systems. I was looking at doing something like an RG-16 + FX rack + foot controller. However, by the time I get all that put together with something like a ground control and g-major... I'm up to the cost of the...

Just like heaven cover c+ doing the cleans

Here's my version. Some crappy fender that I used purposely to get a little bit of crappy sound. I can't remember which one. Just something that was lying around. http://www.speakrecords.com/music/Just_Like_Heaven.mp3 I engineered that for a Cure tribute album.

Cabinet recommendations for a Mark V

How do you switch from the closed to open side of the cab during a set?

Two Mark V's in Stereo!!! Yeah baby yeah!!!!

I'm so glad I saw this post. So... unlike many on this board, I don't play a tremendous amount of metal. I'm looking for something really versatile. The band that I play in, plays everything from funk/hip-hop, to pop/top-40, to punk-ish, rock/hard rock, with the occasional metal-ish type...

Cabinet recommendations for a Mark V

So... I think I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on a Mark V head. I'm wondering if I could get some recommendations on cabs. I play a variety of stuff from funk, pop/top-40 type stuff, to rock/alt-rock, and hard rock. I don't do the hard core metal, too much. I easily get into...

New Roadster - No reverb and no solo boost

I'll try the individual footswitch controls and see if that works.

New Roadster - No reverb and no solo boost

Hi all - I have a new Roadster. I have the foot pedal plugged in and it's switching channels fine. All the lights light up appropriately. I have the knob set to foot switch on the back. FX loop is on on all channels and in on the master FX loop on/bypass. However... I'm having two...

Do Mark V's have to be cranked to sound good?

So... just wanted to let everyone know that my church campus has moved into a new building. When we were building out the stage, we built two slanted walls off the side of the stage to help with the acoustics and to provide storage space. On stage right, I had them build a trough from the...

Do Mark V's have to be cranked to sound good?

No offense taken at all. :D I appreciate the advice. I live in Jacksonville, FL. We have a GC, but they don't stock Mesa's. There's another smaller, slightly sketchier shop that I never go to. They are the local mesa dealer. I may be going down to Orlando for my son't B-day in a week...

Do Mark V's have to be cranked to sound good?

Yeah.. I'm familiar with what a master volume does. I'm also familiar with the fact that Marshalls sound like crap unless the master is cranked (or out of the circuit all together... my top hat behaves like this as well). That's basically why I was asking about the Mark V. In our main...

Do Mark V's have to be cranked to sound good?

Hey - I'm glad you asked ;-) We play all types of music, but most of it's pretty rocked out stuff. We play this type of music at ever service, even our spanish service. We have 15 services on a Sunday, 2 on Saturday, and 7 (I think) on Wednesdays. That's spread out over 7 campuses. We are a...

    I could really use a Mark V rack pre-amp

Don't mean to hijack, but can the triaxis nail the Mark V tones?

Do Mark V's have to be cranked to sound good?

I mainly do two things. Record and play at church. I occasionally sit in with rock cover bands or small jazz combos. So... you can see, I need diversity. I have a top hat club royale that does the 18 watt marshall thing very well w/ a little bit of Vox'ness. But, I want something that can...

Do Mark V's have to be cranked to sound good?

Hi all - Like Marshall/Vox type amps, they really don't sound great until they get to a certain volume (power tube saturation) level. Is this the case as well with the Mark V's? If so, how "bleeding" loud does it have to be? Does an attenuator work with them as well as they do with...
