Roadster at tech, doesn't know what is causing hum, awaiting

TFRIDGEN: Funny you would accuse me of trying to trade you my Roadster, for YOUR Roadster, AND, try to suggest that I was trying to trade you something that was issue laden, when indeed YOU of all people, as another Roadster owner yourself, would know exactly what a ROADSTER SHOULD sound like...

Roadster owners, please take the time to read this and reply

Yes, I have tried disconnecting from my amp too. And if you read my previous thread, it happens with NO VOLUME AND NO GAIN, IN ANY CHANNEL! And yes, it happened at my tech's office too. That is why he initially said that he has never seen an amp do that, and after troubleshooting the usual...

Roadster owners, please take the time to read this and reply

There is hum in all the channels when I turn down the volume and the gain, and disconnect the instrument cable from the guitar with the volume and gain down -- fx loop or no loop. It happens on both settings. I use Fender Samarium Cobalt noiseless pickups on a Fender American Deluxe HSS, my...

Mesa owners can you please take the time to answer this

Hello. Some of you may have been over to the Rectifier section and seen a post I made detailing the many issues I've had with my Roadster. While I know that amps are different, still, if at all possible, the next time all of you fire up your amps could you do the following an respond back to...

Roadster at tech, doesn't know what is causing hum, awaiting

This is getting ridiculous, my reverb stopped working again! Second time in two months. I haven't gigged in 3 months, and my amp is stationary, in a room, by its lonesome. I don't get it -- all the noise issues I've been having, my tech telling me there is something wrong with your amp...

Roadster owners, please take the time to read this and reply

I am sure some of you read my thread on here detailing my issues. I have alas one final question, and I need as much input as possible. With the amp on and the effects either engaged or disengaged, if you turn down the gain and the channel volume, are you left with a noticeable hum/noise...

Roadster at tech, doesn't know what is causing hum, awaiting

Thanks for the reply. I don't know what my tech did to resolve it, but it doesn't really matter. The tech at Mesa said that this is normal behavior for Roadsters, and that there is nothing they could do. This was especially embarrassing because he told me the same thing over the phone. What...

Roadster at tech, doesn't know what is causing hum, awaiting

Thanks for the great post, pokerrules. I did try out two other Roadster, and they were silent. That in itself annoys me incredibly. And it makes me feel like I've lost my mind. I mean, what avenue do I really have to turn to? Mesa is down right stuck on the notion that I am hearing things...

    Dual Rectifier Loud Hum

I hate to sound pessimistic, but welcome to the Mesa Boogie club. You can read extensively about my issues with hum and my Roadster. I don't know about the plain Dual Rectifiers, but according to Mesa's tech, and much to the chagrin of my local tech, the noise is normal. Yes, that is right...

Roadster at tech, doesn't know what is causing hum, awaiting

Thanks for the info. I've heard of him from other posts as well. I drive from Massachusetts, so any farther out might not be so great. In Mass, the best we have is Aztech, but Tom is so good that he is always swamped with orders. I don't know what I'm going to do. I got an ISP decimator...

Roadster at tech, doesn't know what is causing hum, awaiting

By the way, this whole subject has made me so crazy that I forgot to really say "thank you" for all of the great advice and replies. I do appreciate being heard and all of you taking the time to respond. I am trying to be nice about all of this, but if you want my honest opinion, the tech I...

Roadster at tech, doesn't know what is causing hum, awaiting

I brought it to Audio Clinic in Uncasville, Connecticut. Barry is the tech ... very, very nice guy, and he seems very knowledgeable. He went over everything with the Mesa tech over the phone. His results were much the same as mine before I took it to Barry. I called Mesa and some tech there...

Roadster at tech, doesn't know what is causing hum, awaiting

I got the amp back from the tech exactly one week after I took it in. FInal analysis ... Mesa and the tech found nothing wrong with the amp, and in fact Mesa told the tech (and me by phone) that the Roadster FX loop is noisy by nature if you use it at 50%. He told me I would have better luck...

wow, mesa no longer has the trident listed on their website!

No way will this mark the end of the Stilettos! That would be a terrible decision, just from a business perspective. Mesa already builds amps to sell, not in a mass-produced type of way. Why wouldn't they offer a British style amp, complete with the Mesa ethos of knob switching and fixed-bias...

Mesa takes quite awhile to fix things though, no? I heard their timeframe is at least six-months. How long did you wait?

Roadster at tech, doesn't know what is causing hum, awaiting

Hello all I brought my Roadster head to a tech where the amp is now awaiting a call from a Mesa tech on Monday. The amp tech in Connecticut could not figure out what was making the hum/noise that is apparent in all channels, and amplified more in the effects loop. NO, it is not a tube issue...

Isn't that odd! All they have listed are the Ace and the Deuce!
