Convert Dual Rectifier Roadster to Head

Really good point there. Pine + no speakers + smallest possible shell size could cut the weight in half.

    No praise for the Badlander?

I like a lot of different amps with my 7-string guitars. It helps a lot to boost with something like a Dirty Tree to clean up the lows.

Convert Dual Rectifier Roadster to Head

A lot of builders will put a headshell together for you. It won't weigh that much less though. The chassis itself weighs a ton.

    No praise for the Badlander?

Clearly it was marketed as a rectifier. Does it give a good "gravel in the clothes dryer" sound?

All Hail the Mighty Mini Rectifier!

I have been tweaking my MR for literally years looking for its true spirit. I've had a lot (Really. A LOT) of amps come and go over the last 10 years or so, with most in the last 3 or 4. I have spent time tuning up multiple amps at a time, shooting out, combining with different cabs and load...

The one guitar you regret most parting with?

PRS Tremonti trem in Bonnie Pink. Can't even find them any more.

    No praise for the Badlander?

Hey Bandit! Been a minute. I heard the the Badlander is not a recto. Not sure how it got into this section of the forum ;)

LSS Reverb seems not so great - What don't I know?

By cranked I mean reverb cranked. I would typically run reverb at around 11:00 on most amps, but it's inaudible at that level on my LSS. Cranked it is somewhat audible but doesn't sound very good. I suspect the LSC has a better reverb than the LSS.

    Shopping for first Mesa

If you tried the III and love it, there are plenty of clean cabinets for sale that would be compatible. Having had the JP-2C, V, V:25 and V:35, I can say that all of them want to run loud, so it doesn't matter if you get a lower-power version. Also, it is my strong opinion that the V:35 sounds...

LSS Reverb seems not so great - What don't I know?

Hmmm. Seems like maybe we have different opinions about how a reverb should sound. Or maybe they are different. If only we could have a large-scale shootout.

LSS Reverb seems not so great - What don't I know?

After seeing so many comments and vids about the LS reverb being incredible, I'm finding the LSS Combo reverb is not. I usually struggle with spring reverbs in any case, but I expected the reverb to be stronger/louder when cranked, and a bit richer. It seems anemic. It does work, so I doubt...

    NGD: Lonestar Special Combo

I'm an Andy Timmons fan, and always wanted to try out a LS. I was selling a Princeton Reverb LE and got a LSS combo as a trade. I love the amp. Definitely has that certain tone. The clean channel is gorgeous. Dirt channel has a fair bit of range, and can be altered by changing V1. Lots of great...

    Line 6 Helix HX Effect

I have had both the FX8 and have an HX Effects now. I really like the HX Effects. For the $ prefer the HX. Totally inappropriate to bash Line 6. They are a lot of bang for the buck, and the G series wireless and Variax are really great products, as is the Helix.

    Pedal board comparison

I've had two PT Pro boards, still have one. I have switched to a Friedman board. I really like it. The two-layer design with the ability to add in spacers for things like wah or volume is really cool, and the boards are a great size and shape. I also recommend the power supply.

    pedal board question

Most of us do this. It means you need to run 3 cables from your board to the amp. I have had a couple custom looms made for this to keep it neat. Or you can zip tie them together.

    Parallel compression pedal suggestions?

I like the Carl Martin. Also the Unit67 has a very mild compressor that gives quite a lot of sustain, plus it has EQ, boost and a treble boost built in.

Looper pedal users please chime in

That sounds a bit much to expect from a looper. You might try using a sequencer. You can probably set one up on an iOS or Android device at this point. Also TC has a new Ditto that follows the drum beat. Pretty cool.

Pedal For Mesa Mark IIC+ and Mark IV Tones

I think that guy made it himself. You might just get yourself a Mesa Studio Preamp.

Pedalboard Layout Right to Left or Left to Right?

Agreed. Everything is easier if you get used to R -> L.

    Bought a Friedman BE-OD, made a video

Wow, super compelling tones and great playing. Rock on!
