    Mark V price hike

It turns out Mesa raised list prices on a few products starting December 1st, and the list price for the combo is now $2,249 (even though Mesa currently offers it for $2,199 on their Mesa Hollywood web site). But Barry is correct: if you hurry up, you should be able to score a head or a combo at...

    Mark V price hike

It appears that Mesa just raised the prices on Mark V head/combos - "regular" (black on black) head is now $2,099 and combo is $2,199. Some dealers still show old prices online while others have already updated their prices (as has Mesa Hollywood web site). A $100 price increase is not going to...

    Walter Trout & MKV

The other great blues player I went to see back in March was Joe Bonamassa and he utilizes a lot more tonal variety in his playing style...but he also used about a dozen guitars, 4 amps and a large pedalboard during his performance. I didn't think his songs sounded kind of the same... just an...

    Walter Trout & MKV

Went to see Walter a couple of months ago in Seattle. He used two strats and just one channel on his Mark V head for the whole performance. He is obviously a very impressive guitar player and even though I really like a couple of his albums (Outsider is my favorite), I remember standing there...

    Headphones??

You should use Recording out jack on the rear panel and adjust the level using Recording knob; then pull out the Output knob on the front panel and rock! :) I am in the same boat - have been playing through mixer/headphones for the last 6+ months; Mark IV it sounds very good that way (which...

    Mark V vs. Mark IV

Got the HotPlate 8 Ohm delivered yesterday; just spent another couple of hours in headphones tweaking and A/B'ing Mark IV/V and after all, I just can't get Mark V + HotPlate and Line out sound nearly as nice as Mark IV + Recording out :(. Will be shipping my Mark V back next week. I might...

    Mark V vs. Mark IV

Should get THD Hot Plate 8 Ohm delivered early next week - will compare the sound quality with 4 Ohm version and post my findings.

Soon be be new Mark V owner

It's not very easy for Mesa but not impossible, considering that for any warranty work you have to provide a proof of purchase (receipt) from an authorized dealer. They obviously won't see the whole picture, but after a few cases they can easily call a breach of contract and drop offending...

    Mark V vs. Mark IV

According to the manual: Can't see how the outcome could be different as compared with regular speaker out?

Soon be be new Mark V owner

Not meaning to steer the business from sweetwater as they're nice guys, but the initial demand for Mark V has bean falling off pretty rapidly it seems...When I was looking for one three weeks ago, 2 CA dealers had them in stock and one of them (which is an advertiser on this board )...

    Mark V vs. Mark IV

Update: finally I had a chance to spend some quality time with Mark V this weekend, tried both suggested approaches and compared it side-by-side with my Mark IV(b). My set-up: Strat/CU24 connected to A/B pedal; both A/B outs connected to the input jacks on Mark IV/V. Then Mark IV recording out...

    Mark V vs. Mark IV

Thanks a lot for suggestions. I am going to try the mute option first (with a speaker emulator) and the THD HotPlate second. Apparently in my Mark V combo "Mute" output on the back is labeled as "Tuner", but I assume it's the same thing. I liked the sound from the clip, very warm and juicy -...

    Mark V vs. Mark IV

Hello everybody - this is my first post on this forum. :D I've received my Mark V 1x12 combo last Friday and haven't spent enough time comparing it side-by-side to my Mark IV combo yet. One issue I found thus far, is that Mark V doesn't have silent recording feature that Mark IV has - apparenly...
