Mesa Boogie Blackface 2 Channel Dual Rackto

I've owned several older 2 ch Recto's over the years (including 2 pre-500's) and this is the best sounding one of them all. The amp is in great condition with some rack rash (not noticeable when it is rack mounted). The power tubes are newer Mesa 6l6's and I've got some vintage NOS rectifier...

    NAD Rackto and a question

Picked up a Rackto and I must say this thing is a beast when used with a clean boost. I've owned several recto's over the years and they do sound killer when dialed in properly. I love how the orange channel sounds cloned to modern, but there is a bit of a hum. Is that normal? Any thoughts on a...

1992 Pre-500 Dual Recto Voodoo moded Revision D

Own a piece of Mesa Boogie history! KILLER sounding early pre-500 Dual Recto. I've owned several recto's over the years and none of them come close to this one. The rhythm tone is crushing and leads just sing. The Voodoo mod is a basic one and adds some clarity to the amp. It can be easily...

    Super clean cleans

Fender amps are 6L6 based, and they have a decent clean tone 8) Anyway, for a better clean, load some 6L6's and 12at7 or 12au7 preamp tubes. Pair these with an open back cab (with higher wattage speakers) and you should be on your way to a much better clean tone.

Moded '92 Dual Recto gut shots

I bought it already moded, and have contacted Mesa about returning it to stock. Honestly, it's not really a big deal to do so. The iron is all original....all that's changed is a few resistors and minor parts.

Moded '92 Dual Recto gut shots

Any idea what revision this might be? It has the letter "D" on the board, so I'm guessing that's it? Anyway, it looks nice and clean inside!!!

Favorite 6l6's for a 2 channel Dual Recto?

I've used =C='s in the past with great success...any other tubes I should be trying? Oh, and do you have to re-bias a recto when changing the power tubes? I was under the impression that you don't because they're fixed bias... Thanks!
