Best way to run a stereo effect setup

I have a 3 channel dual rec. I am going out of my dual rec efx loop into a TC2290 stereo delay and also have a stereo flanger and chours which I can loop into the 2290 in stereo. Currently I am just using it as mono. I have another cab so would I simply send the stereo left back to my dual...

Dual Rec No sound after tube change

Turns out it was the JFETs in the mute circuit. He said he's seen this before but doesn't know why it happens. Anyone heard of this?

Liquid Lead - IIC or V?

Thanks guys. Man it would be fun to be able to try out all the mark series amps! Does the Mark series represent experiments and the development of Mesa Boogie with the pre-IV models? I did end up making a trade for a V. Should be here in a week. How does the Mark I mode compare to the...

Liquid Lead - IIC or V?

Thanks for all the replies. Lots of great information there. Just to clarify I don't really play much metal and not really looking for the metallica tone but reading about the lead tone of the IIC got me pretty interested! It's great to hear how versitle it is. Like I said on the mark IV I had...

Liquid Lead - IIC or V?

How is the IIC mode on the MK V? IIC seems impossible to find and the IIC+'s out there are selling for 3k+ while a used V seems to be in the 1500$ range. On top of that there are a couple IIBs locally for ~800$. I'm going to play the IIBs and see what I think. I should be able to find a V to...

Dual Rec No sound after tube change

Ok, since the mesa was dead I moved a Marshall over to where I had the Mesa. Played it for a while and all was good, then I heard a popping as I was out smoking and I came back in and the Mains fuse is blown. So, today I put in the our window ACs and 1 is running now. That must be the cause...

Dual Rec No sound after tube change

Hey There, I changed my tubes today in my dual rec. NOS preamp and Mesa power. I know the NOS are good as I was using them in my Mark IV. After I powered it back on I had no volume. If I engage channel 3 I hear the guitar coming through the speaker but the level controls on the amp don't make...

    Draining Mark IV Filter Caps

Just want to make sure this approach is safe for a Mark IV (B, wide 1x12 combo) 1. Unplug the amp, turn power switch on, turn the standby switch on (so the amp would be in standby mode) 2. Connect an aligator clip to the chassis 3. Connect an aligator clip to Pin 1 on V1 4. Wait 30 seconds...

    Mark IV Volume Problems.

I've been having a few strange volume issues with my Mark IV. Now it's to a point where if I turn the master up past 3 the volume doesn't get any louder - it just makes it sound worse. Also with the volume at 3 it is was quieter now than before. Same holds true with all 3 channels and all Full...

    Mark IV Ground Problem?

Oh yeah I should have included that. I tried different cables, tried the ground switch in A and B. Tried a few different guitars... The weird thing to me is that the amp does it when no guitar is connected and that is disappears for a few seconds then comes back in, sizzling a little more...

    New Mark IV owner

Still loving channels 1 and 2. I set up Channel 3 from some other user settings and got a great tone with my Les Paul but since I'm mostly playing a Strat through it I've been sucked into 1 and 2 :) The serial is 007960...So does this put it at almost 2008? I installed Mesa 6L6s (It had non...

    Mark IV Ground Problem?

So I have a ton of noise coming out of my lead channel. With nothing plugged in I get no noise. With a cable plugged in I get a fairly loud sizzle. If I touch the tip it gets really loud. If I touch the sleeve or base of the plug the sizzle goes away. If I do nothing and just leave the cable...

    The Mark IV thread....!!

New Mark IV owner here. When I turn up the drive on the lead channel it gets real buzzy, almost staticy...not a pleasant overdrive sound. I'm going to move some tubes around and see if that helps. It also has JJ 6L6s installed so I'm going to switch those out to Mesa tubes which should help...

    New Mark IV owner

Cool, yeah its working great using just the efx loop in the marshall... It's a shame to use a marshall for a stereo power amp tho :) Might have to find something else. I'm loving the clean sounds! Haven't found a good lead channel sound yet tho. I'm considering changing to 6V6s. One...

    New Mark IV owner

Hey There, I'll be picking up a Mark IV after work. I'm pretty excited! I can't wait to play with it. Now that I'll have two amps.... Can I take the effect send into my TC Gmajor 2 then return the signal stereo, one back to the mark IV and the other to my Marshall 2555 efx return? Or would it...

2FB 2x12 Cab, only one speaker working?

Yeah I know what you mean. I didn't check it out before I bought it so I didn't cover myself there. Last time I do that... It's going to be in the shop for two weeks which sucks, but will give me a reason to check out the Single Rec through a 1960b.

2FB 2x12 Cab, only one speaker working?

Yeah, it was in like new condition so I was cool with the price. The store told me everything is checked when it comes in so it was good when it went out. They said they would sell me a V30 at cost...
