    Staightforward Triaxis questions

I'm looking into a unit with which I can go direct into Cubase(direct because of the neighbors) for home recording. I record death/extreme metal kind of stuff. So basically, my questions are: can the triaxis give a good extreme metal sound, and does this sound translate well into a direct recording?

    Triple Rec direct

This really bites. If I had left the assign to loop on, would I have had the same problem? And sorry about this but what is a dummy load(box) exactly? I was so psyched, now...just deflated.

    Triple Rec direct

No, it went from the fx send straight into the line in. Like I said, there was no problem with this; the crap hit the fan when I switched the assign knob off of loop on.

    Triple Rec direct

I wish I had read your reply a little earlier, because as it is now, I think I just fried my Mesa! Not sure how though. I went out from the FX send direct into the line in on the PC, got the sound no problem. I started messing with the assign knob for some reason, I dialed to the loop bypass and...

    Triple Rec direct

So I have thin walls between me and my neighbors, which means recording at home through my cab is not really an option. I want to try to go through the line in on my PC with my 3x Rectifier and record direct(might sound not so great, but the only choice for now). Do I need to use the FX loop for...

    New tube dilemma

So I've replaced all power and preamp stock tubes in my Triple Recto with JJs(E34L and ECC83S). I get a lot of disruptive noise(could be described as a light wind-blowing sound mixed in with some crackling). After trying different combinations, I see the problem is coming from the preamp tubes...

    Noob Toob question

How about between the 6L6 and EL34? A tech at the store told me EL34s give more punch in the sound and are therefore more suited for Extreme or Death metal, which is what I need.

    Noob Toob question

The bias switch on the back indicates two settings(6L6, EL34), this is for the preamp I take it, right? I heard it's best to stick with Mesa tubes as they are picked and balanced with the bias of the amp, yes?

    Noob Toob question

I cannot believe how much I didn't know about tubes. This is the first time I am replacing them in my Triple Recto, must read up on it a lot. Can anyone help make my research more efficient and suggest pre and power tubes(I've had the head for about 3 years now, played an average of 6-8 hours/wk...
