    Recording with my Mesa

Howdy everyone, Quick question. I want to setup my Stiletto Trident head in the control room and have the cab in another. Anyone have any ideas on how long is too long when running cable between a head and a cab? I want my head to be in the room with me so I can tinker with it and not have...

Two different Stiletto's are confusing me...UPDATED

That's cool, jackie, I didn't think that you meant anything like that. Actually I found your posts regarding the stiletto extremely helpful. I think the idea of there being different "revisions" is a good one and I wouldn't doubt that that may be the case....... Anyway, I'm off to read the...

Two different Stiletto's are confusing me...UPDATED

Well, jackie.. I don't know what to say. I read your posts extensively before I purchased my stiletto trident (its a series 1) and was a little scared to buy it but I figured for the price ($899) I couldn't go wrong. Well, here it is a few months later and I gotta tell ya, my "unmodded"...

Running a head with no cabinet attached

Yep, I'm sure I infuriated a few neighbors last night!! I was up till about 1:00am tinkering with the amp and the new cab. This is my first "head and cabinet" type amp and I am absolutely floored by the sound. I am soooo glad I went with Mesa! Simply put.. Nothing else even comes...

Running a head with no cabinet attached

Well, things seem to be fine.... I celebrated by going to GC and purchasing a recto traditional cab! God, this thing is a different animal through a good cabinet. I spent the last 3 months playing through a 4x10 bass cab!!!! Funny, huh?

Running a head with no cabinet attached

I know what your thinking and yes, I know that I can't run my Stiletto without a cab hooked up. My question though is this: turned on my head and was getting my guitar plugged in, when I realized that the head was not connected to the cab. So, my head was on (in standby most of the time) for...

    Hotplate or Tube Screamer?

Platypus, Thanks for your thoughts on the OCD. Sounds like a great pedal. I tried it briefly through a VHT combo (I think it was called a Pitbull) and it was pretty cool. But I want to take MY guitar and amp into the store and see how it sounds. Like you stated, I was impressed with its...

    Hotplate or Tube Screamer?

Platypus, Tell me about your OCD. Local music store has one and was thinking about picking it up. Want to use it in front of my Stiletto - Series 1. Hoping it will help push the amp "over the edge" when I need just a little more. Any thoughts or suggestions regarding this pedal. Am planning...

Need a good authorized Mesa amp tech

Hello everyone, Can anyone recommend a good authorized Mesa Service Center in Washington State? I'm in Tacoma and am thinking of getting my Stiletto modded. (Still thinking it over, I like the way it sounds now, but I'm always down for making a good thing better!) Anyway, any recommendations...

Which bridge pickups do you like with your STILETTO?

Currently I am using two strats, both with Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbuckers in the bridge position. While this pickup sounds good, I wouldn't say they necessarily sound outstanding to my ears. A little muddy to me. I have had both of these guitars for several years, but didn't notice...

Just got a new stilleto to compliment my dual recto!!!

Ok update fellas!! I picked up my Stiletto Trident after work today! In a word..... Awesome. Unfortunately, I'm borrowing a 4x10 cab until I can save enough money to get a Stiletto 4x12. Having only had combo amps before, someone explain to me the stereo wiring of a Mesa cab. Two heads on...

Just got a new stilleto to compliment my dual recto!!!

Was in a band down here for a while, played out at some local clubs, you know, the normal drill. Bass player decided he wanted to go out on his own and then the singer bailed as well. We recorded an EP in Seattle and got it mastered and then just as we were getting ready to go after artwork...

Just got a new stilleto to compliment my dual recto!!!

Hey Diamondschwin! If I may ask, what GC did you get yours at? I'm in Washington State and am waiting for my "blowout Stiletto" to arrive from St. Louis! I figure that if they are having to go to those lengths, they must be getting scarce. I'm a little nervous because I usually don't have...

What cabinets do you use with your Mesa heads?

Hey everyone, Recently purchased a series 1 Stiletto from GC and am in need of a 4x12 cab. What do you all use? Other brands? Better to stick with Mesa cabs for Mesa heads? I like the way the Marshall 1960A cab sounds, but have only heard it with a Marshall TSL100. Anyone got any info on...

    Info on Nomad amps

Thanks for the recommendation Brewski.... I hadn't really thought of that. I don't know too much about the F-series amps, seems like a spin throught Mesa website is in order. How are the cleans on the Rectoverb combo? Anyone? Not a big deal as I can run a multi amp setup with my Fender holding...

    Info on Nomad amps

cvansickle, The one thing that does get to me sometimes about Mesa amps is the versatility that is built into them. Sometimes it is a little overwhelming to me. I originally bought my Fender because it was a simple layout without a lot of bells and whistles. The flip side of that is that it...
