Maybe its just the settings you've dialed in. With Gain and Treble High (7 to 8 ) the hiss seems a normal thing to me.

I don't know if its on every circuit board, but on mine an exact date is written on it with a black marker.

But it should also taken into account that the 50/50 and a Poweramp Section of a MKIII are the perfect match. They were designed for those preamps.
