But what about the comparison of the PRE500 to the Post500 models before they switched to the 3 Channel's? Is there much of a difference to be worth it to shell out the extra money?

See, that's the dilemma, is it worth it to change? To be honest, some of the Mark IV clips that I've heard really sound great, but then when I listen to the recto stuff, it's different but still cool. Can anyone explain to me the term Pre500/Post500? I'm assuming it has to do with the serial number. By looking at the s/n R-001109, I can assume this would be post500, right? :?

Thanks for the info. Are there any specific years to look for that seem to have "THE TONE"? From your earlier post, I'm guessing somewhere in the '92-'94 era, correct? Also, unfamiliar with a couple of those sites, can you be a little more specific? Craigslist and cali. Sorry, don't mean to...
