depending on what you want as far as a good tone, i always have the gain and treble rather high, and use the guitar volume to control the crunch. oh, and always keep your master volume above 4 (attenuate with the individual channel volumes)

It seems like everyone is using a digital delay. Has anyone tried an analog? Do they differ that much? $300+ seems fairly steep for a analog model, while it seems the digital ones are much cheaper.

How many of you use a delay pedal with your mesas (specifically mark iv)... just curious. I've never owned one and am somewhat interested. If you do, what specific pedal, and how do you use it? On all the time, just for leads... etc. Thanks!

Turning the master volume up on tweed, along with fiddling with the guitar controls did help a little. Thanks guys.

i would stay away from mesa tubes only because they are re-marked tubes from other manufacturers that are marked up in price. you can talk to any reputable online tube-dealer guy and tell him you have a mark iv, and he will sell you tubes cheaper than mesa that will work perfectly for you and...

if it is happening across all of your channels, i would be 95% sure in saying that it is probably time to replace the power tubes.

even if you can't get it fixed by saturday, i wouldn't worry. I think you have to play your amp on full power, pentode, and the master volume cranked to get anywhere near over heating it. Just make sure its open in the back where air is allowed to circulate. If you are that worried about it...
