What made you decide to buy a mesa boogie?

For me it was Petrucci's tone for one. I was going to buy a Krank revolution at the time I got my triple rec and it sold the day before I got the money and I got my triple rec and i'm very glad I did, the new 3 channels sound good but don't hold a candle to my 2 channel. It's so big and open...

2 Ch Triple Rec with EL-34s?

thanks for all the info though, in the 5 years i've had tube amps this the first one I've had long enough to retube it and I'll be keeping this one for quite a long time, i'm really happy with this amp. Using the tube rectifiers was the whole reason I bought a triple I love the sound of the tube...

    Fixed problem: LOUDNESS

One thing i've done on my triple rec is that since it's a two channel triple it has no global master it has only channel masters, I run a delay pedal, and engage the loop, increase the channel volumes and turn down the loop active master and it works wonders. Sounds similar to what you're doing...

    What bands use Rectifiers?!

Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Godsmack, Disturbed used one on the sickness, Tool, System of a Down, Falling up, Decyfer Down, Ektomorf, Stonesour, Creed, Alterbridge, Metallica, Dream Theater, Pillar, Avril Lavigne, Killswitch Engage, Unearth, and a few others I can't think of right now...

    Dual Rectifier Problem

Ok so call me crazy, but I would be questioning if they actually changed the tubes or not....I don't trust guitar center personally, I think they take advantage of people who they think they can. I see them screw so many people out of good money on trades, and I see how they sill people things...

2 Ch Triple Rec with EL-34s?

I actually much prefer the sound of the recto tubes. I used them till the day one of my recto tubes died. It sounds like bob at eurotubes.com is into pushing the limits of an amp. I guess that's good if you're going for a brown sound or something. I really like they way my amp sounded before the...

    Proof!

Actually that's my grandpa's house, I just had my gear over there after a show and took a pic of my recto, that was right after I got a matching cab. My gear stays in a rehearsel space most of the time and it's sound treated.

    Floyd Rose tremolo

check with some places like stewmac.com or other luthier supply sites, most of them sell floyd rose routing jigs and if you traced out the part and cut it out for the D-tuna that might work for you, I know they also make and sell a few other jig blanks so you can make your own. I'd try a jig and...

    Triple Rec/GCX popping

that makes sense now. I wonder what they did in their older heads? My 2 channel triple doesn't make any weird pops or anything.

    express 50

If you use your neck pickup to solo, try turning the gain back up on the amp and rolling a little volume back on the bridge pickup so that you have a little volume boost when you play leads....other then that maybe get a volume pedal and just turn the amp up a little louder and play with the...

    Proof!

I hope everyone has a sense of humour and I don't get flamed for this.. Proof that owning a Mesa attracts pussy :P (aww come on you know i'm talking about a pussy cat)

2 Ch Triple Rec with EL-34s?

Thanks, I planned on doing a total retube. I haven't been able to use my recto tubes for a while now cuz i have a bad one and it blows the fuse on standby in recto tube mode right now. I've been using it in diode mode for some time now. I think for power tubes i'm going to get a set of the JJ...

Just blew both speakers in lonestar

Try going to www.avatarspeakers.com, they sell Eminance and Celestions and sometimes you can find some speakers that were just demo speakers for a cab on a hell of a discount, give them a try.

Want to buy a Mark IV for a great price like $1100?

I'm not going to flame you for that, I think line 6 does a good job for what they are. I actually really liked the vetta series, the mesa recto mode with the bogner uberschall was totally freakin heavy. They just sound flat and sterile to me, I got tired of modeling amps wanting to be the amps I...

Pro Net Pricing as of February 2007

**** the prices aren't bad at all on the express heads. I played one of the combos and was really impressed. I am debating on whether to get another rectifier as a second amp at big shows or a backup at small shows. I don't know whether to go for another old 2 channel triple like mine or whether...

2 Ch Triple Rec with EL-34s?

See I used to have a Genz Benz el Diablo head and I used to run a Laney and both had EL-34s and that was when I played power metal. The EL-34 sound was great. I play in a modern hard rock band now, cross Three Days Grace, Godsmack, Breaking Benjamin, and stuff like that. I need a big low end. I...

    My amp is too loud!

I would get a Power Soak like a THD treadplate or something that allows you to crank your amp to a good saturation and then reduce the volume that goes out. I would say to talk to Bob at eurotubes and see about getting some tubes that break up faster and at lower volumes so you don't have to...

    NEED OPINIONS...on recording gear/hardware...

I've had good luck with my band's setup. We use a Presonus firepod 8 channel with Reaper. Reaper is equally as good as protools but free. www.reaper.fm I love this program. At the studio we use we have a protools HD setup but can't afford that for our home stuff.

Want to buy a Mark IV for a great price like $1100?

No if he does I think an increase in sales on 5 gallon buckets will happen so that way people have something to puke in when they here the tone.
