    Lovin' my Stiletto Ace!

He was pretty sure about what he was saying. My first thought was a green cab as well. he said they had tried all the cabs with it, even the over-sized 4x12 and this one added the most bottom end. IMHO he was right. Maybe I should have it recoverd in green! - dstefani

    Lovin' my Stiletto Ace!

That looks great. At what point did they reverse the controls of the Ace, or am I seeing things? My combo has the mini toggles on the left and the master outputs on the right

    Lovin' my Stiletto Ace!

When I called Mesa as to the best ext cab for my Ace, he did not like the sound of the Stiletto cabs. He recommended the standard horz. 2x12 recto. I have to agree, the recto sounds killer. Very loud to! I'd call Mesa and get the info first hand. - dstefani

    Lovin' my Stiletto Ace!

This is a great example of the diverse tones from the Ace. Mine is late 60's early 70's, and you guys are getting into 80's Marshall crunch. Any virtuoso guitar players out there? Jason Becker or Steve Vai type of playing? George Lynch? I'm out of my element here. - dstefani

    Lovin' my Stiletto Ace!

Yes, I have a LP 58 RI that sounds like heaven through the ace. I have my ASAT in it right now on ch1 all EQ set to aout 10:00 gain at 10:00 master on 9 - crunch. So clean and precise, I feel like a sax player, every note, every nuance of intonation. It's a beautiful instrument (amp) ;). Side...

    Lovin' my Stiletto Ace!

Back to the points about the Ace not having a power drop capability. ( a good thing) Even though you can't cut the power with a 25/50 switch, as mentioned the variac does that a bit. But the different channels all seem to have different power levels. If the top channel switched to fat clean...

    2nd cab for ROV combo

Although I have been eying the weber british series: https://taweber.powweb.com/weber/ Specifically this one: AlNiCo 1230-55 With the one ceramic in the combo this might make an interesting combination as a replacement for the 2x12 cab speakers. Of course I'm more of a Jazz/Rock to old rock...

    2nd cab for ROV combo

If my rich uncle died and left me some cash, I'd like to try a couple of tone tubby's in my horz recto 2x12. :P - dstefani

    2nd cab for ROV combo

I used to have a slant 2x12 recto, didn't care for it at all. I don't know about flab, it just sounded kinda' funky. - dstefani

After 15 years I'm playing again--bought a Mesa, please help

Excellent, These days I work full time from home, so I get to woodshed at least an hour a day. I love it! My finger tips stay nice and tough. Give that Strat a bit of time and you'll start to hear some real nice colors in the tone. If it has the SR1 set up like my new AM Deluxe, the pickups...

After 15 years I'm playing again--bought a Mesa, please help

That's along time to take off from playing. I've been there, but not that long. Your hands have got an interesting road ahead of them. You've got a nice set up, chill and just play! :P I can remember working my way back after my youngest child turned 3 or so. I was ready to get into to it...

    2nd cab for ROV combo

When I was looking for a cab for my stiletto ace 1x12, I called Mesa and he guy there recommended the 2x12 horz. recto cabinet over any other extention cab for adding a solid bottom end to the ace. I got one and it sounds great (huge), he seemed to know what he was talking about. :P Invest a...

    Ace w/ Reverb Unit

Has anyone tried a Stiletto Ace Combo with a Fender reverb unit? Not through the loop, but in the signal chain like you would with a tweed Bassman. I saw a pic of the guy from Los Lonely Boys rig, he had two twins and two Marshalls and a Fender Reverb for the Marshalls. Kinda cool. I'm thinking...

The Ace - I'll admit it, I'm hooked

Looking at your strat, where the cut in the body starts, you can see the pearl real nice. For such a simple instrument, they sure are pretty! 8) - dstefani

The Ace - I'll admit it, I'm hooked

Yea, I know. The next thing I want to get is a Gibson 335, but after a while it's a balance, am I playing, or buying? Right now, I just want to gig sometimes, but mostly write. I've got parts of a ton of songs on paper, computer and head and I've got to get them together. With this gear I can...

The Ace - I'll admit it, I'm hooked

Gotcha!!! I know, I'm cruel. But I could only do that to ya' because I KNOW how it works. I've been got sooooo many times. Uh, makes me think of... hmm, oh yea, RANDAL SMITH thank you very much! The "Amp Porn" king of the world!!! :P Porn is so addictive. I keep going back to the mesa site...

The Ace - I'll admit it, I'm hooked

To me the LP and the Strat are so apples and oranges. The LP has such high output compared to the Strat. I grew up playing a LP, from when I was pretty young, so it's like part of me. It ook me years to get my hands to play a Strat and enjoy it, and get a beautiful tone out of it. It's an...

The Ace - I'll admit it, I'm hooked

R8? I've got to assume you hit the 8 instead of 'I' ? ;-) Yep, I've bought allot of gear, but the dough for a real one would buy allot of... cars? They do sound great through the ace. They all do... scary.

The Ace - I'll admit it, I'm hooked

Way cool. I had an am std v-neck, same sr1 set up, but it made me play too hard. After a trip to my tech, this plays So nice. I can play almost as smoothly as my Paul,.. almost ;) I had to go through 3 G&L Legacy's and the v-neck before I found a keeper Strat. My poor wife! 8) - dstefani
