Snap! My mark IV broke down!

Well, I don't know really. My amp always smells a bit rare after use. But I'll swap the old tubes back and replace the tube, and see if there is any change. Just strange that my amp won't be turned on. Hope it has something to do with the blown fuse

Snap! My mark IV broke down!

we're in the same country, octavarius :D Yeah, but is it any visual signs of a malfunctionable fuse? Mine almost looks like it is painted in black with some kind of spray thanks

Snap! My mark IV broke down!

Changed the whole power amp two days ago. the amp is from january something. but that I can't take the tubes in and out properly isn't my main concern at the moment!

Snap! My mark IV broke down!

I don't feel too confident with going in to the amp.. There's been some problems with the socket C lately. Had problems with getting the tubes in and out. I'll better take it to a tech.

Snap! My mark IV broke down!

I turned my mark IV on and played for 1 minute, until it suddenly began to hum! Then it just broke down, and now it won't start again. I went closer to look if I could see anything wrong, and it smelled burnt. well, that sucked

Just found out Mesa is discontinuing the Mark IV's…

Mark V doesn't sound very logical to me. nor does the discontinuation of the mark IV. it will be exiting to see whatever mesa comes up with anyway. I just hope that the Mark IV will kick *** in comparison to the new thing, so that I can feel a bit cooler than the guys who buy the new stuff..

    Mesa Stiletto clip

which again makes me like the andy timmons tone from the stiletto sound better and that we always get the basics from a home recording studio as well

    Mesa Stiletto clip

I like the andy timmons stuff with the stiletto, but I didn't like this track. But if the other guys here says that it's a good track, it's my fault that I don't like it.

    EL34's in a Mark IV

I don't think the 34's were so middy. Like Halfdeaf says, it's more tool, but it's still like metallica, just more buzzing. At least in my opinion

    EL34's in a Mark IV

I tried the JJ E34L's in my class A sockets and didn't like it. It just just iced up the high mids for me. Switched back the 6l6 some days after. but el34 certainly let you experiment with new EQ settings

So I got my Mark IV today!

Most of the settings you find on the internet doesn't work for a lot of people. You have to experiment a lot, totally new perspectives in settings, maybe change tubes ect. Petrucci uses a boost pedal for his solos anyway, wouldn't bother too long in finding a petrucci lead sound with just the amp

    pickups on prs

yeah, I have the rotary. I don't find it hard to switch pickups. But it would have been even easier if the button was somewhere closer to the picking hand. But as people say, you get used to use the rotary switch instead of the three way selector

Best practices for my FX setup

First of all, in front of the amp, put the tuner first. Then distortion, and then the noise reduction. Loop: The delay is the last thing in the loop. I don't know what the BBE and RC-2 are, but the delay is the last thing whatsoever. All modulations and hip hop things are in the loop. I guess...

Tone, pedalboard chain order, and noise. With PIC

I would actually just advise you to get a really good noise supressor anyway. But you can buy some route switches and try to have as few pedals active as possible. And of course buy pedals with true bypass, and get rid of the cheap behringer pedals. And make sure you use a fully grounded...

    pickups on prs

I like both neck and bridge for sweeps, but I feel that it gets muddy with the neck. Kinda sounds like I'm trying to hide my mistakes or something. But I'm not the guy who changes pickup every second bar type of thing, I use the tone control a lot more. Have it around 6 on rhythm, and 5 on...
