can all express owners please try this and explain if poss..

Yes, I have read all that in the manual, but it doesn't answer why the master volume does not change the 'active' sound in the loop. Yes, the volume on the looper will increase the overall volume, but that's not what I want, because it changes the signal into the power amp section of the amp...

can all express owners please try this and explain if poss..

I asked this once before and nobody seemed to help...even MESA haven't gotten back to me. I use a BOSS looper from time to time and stick it in the FX loop. If I record a phrase, then turn the master volume down on the amp the loop is still there being played at the volume it was at. Same...

BEST BOOST OR COMP/SUSTAINER PEDAL (ed: to use with express)

In have a thing with knobs...too many and I start losing it...ho ho ho....seriously...if there are too many things to tweak I start losing focus. I like one knob at a time thank you. The MXR EQ's would drive me nuts! I am an incoherent musician most of the time...(and proud of it!)...and more...

BEST BOOST OR COMP/SUSTAINER PEDAL (ed: to use with express)

Little information on the net on this topic. I want to basically boost signal for solo's, keeping sound and clarity. Trying to find a way around using volume on the guitar as the boost. Flying Dragon? Keeley Comp? MI Boost? Hot Cake? Any ideas? f@ m@

Tubes from Doug for my Express 5:50

For me...it is the difference between solid state and tube. The Express sounded a little clinical to begin with...characterless...now it has soul! It's a totally different amp...I would love to post some sounds but I don't have that technology. I can't imagine anyone NOT being happy with the...

Tubes from Doug for my Express 5:50

yes it was your post originally regarding the tube swap...and you were right...a great investment. the difference is chalk and cheese... the biggest difference is the ability to dial in a great sound. it's all great! what I do now is keep all EQ at 12 and basically just use the contour...

Tubes from Doug for my Express 5:50

I purchased a Land Rover Defender a few years ago and found that for a small fee of $700 I could get the ECU re-programmed to provide an extra 30% more power. The difference was incredible...I could now drive up any freeway hill in 5th gear with power to spare...I could even spin the wheels on...

*** BEST TONE/EQ SETTINGS FOR EXPRESS AMPS ***

I think that's a tad subjective... there are too many factors, like ones guitar and preferred volume level. aren't we after a different sound...or do we all want to sound the same? So do we have any suggestions for tone??????? sm@

*** BEST TONE/EQ SETTINGS FOR EXPRESS AMPS ***

I should ad that 'tone/eq' settings without the use of pedals are more useful...as we don't all have the same pedals! m@str@

*** BEST TONE/EQ SETTINGS FOR EXPRESS AMPS ***

G'day all! The Express are, as most would agree, a very versatile amp. Four 'channel' modes and the option of high and low outputs makes for many hours of experimentation. In fact one could say the possibilities are endless! There are some 'tone' settings posted on the 'grail tone' website...

TECH QUESTION: NO MASTER VOLUME ON FX LOOP????

I have sent this question to the guys at Mesa and I await their response. Basically when running a loop station (BOSS RC 50) using the FX loop on my 5:50 for some reason the master volume is bypassed? For example: if I record a loop and decide to increase the amps master volume...the loop...
